I see wher eyou're coming from, but look up his older stuff from the UK and da ali g show. I'm his first American Fan (my cuz from london put me on to him way before he was here in 03) and I still think the tv commercials are lame.

Youtube is great

I take back what I said. I saw a segment of the guy last night and really he is pretty funny. Apparentlt, his move is getting great reviews and alot of critics liked it for it's comedy.

I'm going to see it tonight.

I'm going to see it tonight after work. This is worth going to see in theaters just to see the audience reaction if nothing else.

The Jackass crowd will love it by default, but it's a little more clever than that.

WHat the funniest film of 06?

Jackass
Borat
Clerks 2

?

he was incredibly funny on the daily show too. i'm definately seeing this in theatres.

I went this afternoon and saw it and it was the real deal believe the hype. I usually hate most comedies because they are so contrived and cheap. But this movie uses real people and situations and the reactions of the people - pricelessIf you are easily offened stay away I warn you.Funniest movie in a long time. The theater was packed for a matinee the last I saw where a matinee was packed was last year for 'Revenge of the Sith' that is suprising believe me for my area.I give it a 10 ! I'm still laughing thinking about some scenes.

I just got back. It is not the funniest movie of this year. It truly is the funniest movie of SEVERAL years.

lol. Agreed. I just got back myself. Some friends invited me when we got off work. I'm not the biggest Ali G fan but I have to admit that the movie was HILARIOUS! I couldn't stop laughing. I loved the subway scene. He's trying to kiss everyone and they want to kick his ass. Then, a roaster comes out of his briefcase. lmao.

And, of course, the BEST scene in the entire movie was the naked fighting. OH GOD! It's been a while since something has made me laugh so hard. And, what was funnier than the fight was the reaction at the theater. When the fat guy appeared naked every single female in the audience said "OH MY GOD" at the same time. It was soooooooooooooooooooooo funny. Oh man!

I agree with Matt and Catman.

That is the funniest movie I've seen since Dumb and Dumber.

This really has to be one of the funniest movie's i've ever seen. Huge Borat and Ali G fan. I didn't find Ali G Indahouse very funny, mostly because the movie was practically all scripted, but this was just downright amazing. Both the scripted and non-scripted parts had me busting out laughing. The bear in the ice cream truck was amazing.

And does anyone know if Pamela Anderson was in on that gag near the end? I cant believe he tried to stuff her in a freakin' sack. It had to be scripted, and yet it really dind't seem like it.

I hear none of his stuff is scripted. He's basically going at it commando, and nobody knows what's going to happen really.

I also heard there was so much cut material....extras....that HBO might pick it up and make it into a series of some sort.

For the show, almost nothing is scripted. For the movie, however, there were some scripted parts. Just the stuff with him by himself or with his Producer, though. Basically, you can mostly tell what's scripted and what's not. The scripted stuff is just to drive the story, but when he's interacting with people and doing interviews, that's all him. The people aren't in on it, and really think he's some crazy sexist anti-semetic foreigner.

And yeah, I can imagine there being TONS of cut footage. I really think a large part of the dinner scene was cut. Once he invites the prostitute over, and a bunch of people stand up to politely leave, they quickly cut to that one women telling him get out or she'll call the cops. Something happened in between because that escalated a bit too quickly.

Brilliant film. And an interesting analysis of the way Americans treat people from other countries. And yeah, some of it HAD to be scripted. Pam Anderson probably would have sued him if they didn't tell her beforehand.

I agree. A lot of the editting seemed off at times. It would cut way too suddenly from one thing to another, without really giving closure on a scene.

Did you hear the producer of the news channel where he interrupted the weather report lost her job because of this? He was actually live on the air when he did all that ****.

He's no Andy Kaufman.

I'll be glad when he stops showing up on every show on TV.

It better than Ali G Indahouse. Laughed many times. But still, not a masterpiece. Three out of five.

I'll be waiting for Brüno.

I saw it yesterday night and really is as good as critics say. I've never laughed that much for a good time now and that movie was definetly worth it. I've become a fan of Borat.

Dam. I like the funny and Sascha was very funny in Talledega nights, but I did not laugh as much as I was hoping for. This was my first experience with BORAT. As the movie went on I just said to myself, "Thats it, this is all this guy does. Just go around in a funny accent and freak people out. Meh"

I was disappointed. I was the only one in a sold out house not laughing, correction I chuckled but comapred to the falling out of the chair uncontrollable laughter, not me. But, this is a good movie however. Behind all the wackyness there is a nice a message and sascha is a good actor. I look forward to see more from him. But, i defitnatley thought the scripted parts were the funniest. The beginning is classic as well the ending, "I buy IPOD he can only afford Ipod mini! EVERYONE KNOWS THAT FOR GIRLS!"

I'll look up some old stuff and give it another try. But, the night wasnt a complete waste. RENO 911:MIAMI saved the night for me. god that was the funniest trailer in the history of trailers.
junior: did i doze off?
dangle: you do know were driving right?
junior: oh sh*&(!
*crashes into toilet*
