  • Oh boy. This is just the start.
[*][FONT=&quot]Earlier today, Gearbox's CEO Randy Pitchford participated in an event at GDC 2017 on the current state of the Unreal Engine 4. During the event, which was live-streamed on Twitch, Pitchford showed off some Borderlands 3 during an Unreal Engine 4 tech demo.
Pitchford made it very clear that while we were looking at Borderlands 3, this was very much a tech demo and anything seen may be changed or might not make it into the final game. Although Pitchford stressed that things may change in the future, he did offer some teases on Borderlands 3.
According to Pitchford, Borderlands 3 will take place on new planets and that the character in the screenshots below is a character that Borderlands fan have encountered before - this is the reason why her face is not revealed.
Check out some of the screens below:

As far as we know, Borderlands 3 has been in development and that it probably won't be hitting the Nintendo Switch.

I just love that Tales from the Boarderlands is actually cannon and we will get to see some form of results in Bord3rlands.

SO Pitchford hinted at a game that "90% of the company was working on " and said it was what everyone else wants without saying the name... it's possible it wont be released as Borderlands 3 but rather a variant name like BORderworlds, since they refuse to tie an official name in

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition rated for PS4 and Xbox One in Taiwan
Published 15 hours ago. 29 comments.
Unannounced "Game of the Year Edition" resurfaces after seven months.

Borderlands-GoTY-Taiwan-Rating_01-06-19.jpg

Back in May 2017, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea rated a “Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition” for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. While an official announcement never followed, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has today rated the title for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Furthermore, it clarifies the developer as Blind Squirrel Entertainment.

The original Borderlands was released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in October 2009. While both of its followups, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, were remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC as part of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, the original Borderlands did not receive the same treatment.

I'm down, I enjoyed the first 2 games a lot despite playing solo the entire time. It's the only lootshooter series I genuinely love because of the world and supporting characters. This time I'll play with people.

I've never played a Borderlands game before. should I start with the 1st game, or play the Prequel game first?

also, I know you play as preset characters, but are you able to customize their appearance at all ( like change hair color/style )?

Borderlands 2 has around 105 different Skins and 35 different Heads, the Pre Sequel has 100 or so Skins and I think around 20 different Heads. I'm not sure about Borderlands 1, but with the Remastered version, Gearbox added more Skins and Heads for each character.

Release date is September 13th.
here are the written details on the characters .

Fact Sheet
About

The original shooter-looter returns, packing bazillions of guns and an all-new mayhem-fueled adventure! Blast through new worlds and enemies as one of four brand new Vault Hunters–the ultimate treasure-seeking badasses of the Borderlands, each with deep skill trees, abilities, and customization. Play solo or join with friends to take on insane enemies, collect loads of loot, and save your home from the most ruthless cult leaders in the galaxy.

What’s New

  • A Mayhem-Fueled Thrill Ride: Stop the fanatical Calypso Twins from uniting the bandit clans and claiming the galaxy’s ultimate power. Only you, a thrill-seeking Vault Hunter, have the arsenal and allies to take them down.
  • Your Vault Hunter, Your Playstyle: Become one of four extraordinary Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities and playstyles, deep skill trees, and tons of personalization options. All Vault Hunters are capable of awesome mayhem alone, but together, they are unstoppable.
    • Moze as The Gunner: When Moze needs backup, she digistructs her mech – Iron Bear – for a sucker punch of additional firepower.
    • Amara as The Siren: A confident, capable brawler with the ability to summon ethereal fists, Amara uses her Siren powers to smash her enemies.
    • FL4K as The Beastmaster: FL4K lives for the hunt. So do the loyal beasts that follow their master’s every command. Their preferred prey? Unsuspecting bandits, those poor suckers.
    • Zane as The Operative: Specializing in battlefield gadgetry, Zane is extremely proficient at slipping into combat, creating chaos, and sneaking back out as if he were never there.
  • Lock, Load, and Loot: With bazillions of guns and gadgets, every fight is an opportunity to score new gear. Firearms with self-propelling bullet shields? Check. Rifles that spawn fire-spewing volcanoes? Obviously. Guns that grow legs and chase down enemies while hurling verbal insults? Yeah, got that too.
  • New Borderlands: Discover new worlds beyond Pandora, each featuring unique environments to explore and enemies to destroy. Tear through hostile deserts, battle your way across wartorn cityscapes, navigate deadly bayous, and more!
  • Quick & Seamless Co-Op Action: With a new level-sync system, the experience scales for each individual player. That means you can play with anyone at any time online or in split-screen coop, regardless of your level or mission progress. Take down enemies and challenges as a team, but reap rewards that are yours alone–no one misses out on loot.
What’s Back and Better Than Ever (Franchise Features)

  • Bazillions of Guns: With multiple distinct weapons manufacturers, a revolutionary content generation system, and special legendary drops to uncover, your ever-improving arsenal comes with near-infinite possibilities.
  • RPG Progression: Slay your foes, gain experience points, and build out extensive skill trees unique to each of the four Vault Hunters.
  • Rich Universe: Uncover the rewarding mysteries, memorable inhabitants, and deep lore of the extensive Borderlands narrative universe.
  • Intense Vehicular Combat: Get behind the wheel and engage in frenetic vehicle-to-vehicle combat.

Borderlands 3 will have split-screen, but only on console

A new Borderlands 3 trailer has just dropped, confirming several important details that had leaked since its announcement last week: the release date, and the fact that it will be a six-month Epic Games Store exclusive. The trailer also shows split-screen in action, and 2K has since confirmed to us that “Borderlands 3 will support two-player split-screen on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” No mention of PC, there, you’ll notice.

You can check out the new trailer in a tweet below (it doesn’t appear to be on YouTube at time of writing). You’ll notice that the screen divides at 0:47 and 0:51, and that at the latter moment, Read more

More developers weigh in on Borderlands review bombing

Game developers are somewhat split on Steam reviews in the wake of a recent campaign to review-bomb Borderlands and Borderlands 2 after the announcement that the next game in the series will be a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store.

Gearbox founder and CEO Randy Pitchford suggested yesterday that review bomb campaigns have made him wonder about the wisdom of publishing his company’s games on Steam at all. Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail made a similar point, tweeting that the increasing use of review-bombing campaigns has made user reviews a serious issue for developers, and that “platforms without them [are] a safer bet for launch” due to the threat these campaigns pose to a game’s financial viability.

That’s basically why review bombing is effective: they use Steam’s user rating system to threaten the income developers make from their games. From the developers’ perspective, why expose yourself to that vulnerability if, years later,Read more

Randy Pitchford responds to Borderlands Steam review bombing campaign

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has weighed in on the latest review-bombing campaign on Steam, which is targeting the original Borderlands games in light of the announcement that Borderlands 3 will be a timed exclusive on the Epic Games Store.

If you’re just tuning in, it’s a familiar story at this point: A game is announced as an Epic exclusive, and Steam users vent spleen in the reviews for the developers’ other games on Steam. You may recall earlier this year when this happened with Metro Exodus, and now Borderlands and Borderlands 2 are bearing the brunt of Steam users’ anger.

Gearbox developer Scott Velasquez retweeted a post showing the sudden spike of negative reviews on the first two Borderlands games, saying “Not cool at all to misuse a system like this,Read more

The very first Borderlands 3 gameplay footage will be livestreamed on the Borderlands Twitch channel starting at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST on May 1st, giving you a unique chance to learn more about the upcoming shooting extravaganza's world, main characters, plot, and that sweet, sweet loot.

Considering that Borderlands launched back in 2009 and many, especially younger, players have not played the game (although they can to that right now by purchasing the original’s upgraded Game of the Year Edition that is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC), Gearbox Software has decided to release a special trailer, showcasing all the important events that led to Borderlands 3.

As a reminder, the proper threequel will see the return of many beloved characters from the previous games (namely Borderlands, Borderlands 2, and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel), including famous heroes and villains like Brick, Zero, Claptrap, Maya, Tiny Tina, Ellie, Sir Hammerlock, Lillith, Marcus, Tannis Mordecai, Lady Aurelia, Moxxi, and even Rhys from Telltale Games' Tales from the Borderlands.

In the meantime, be sure to take a closer look at "The Story So Far" trailer down below:

Gearbox Software hosted a worldwide gameplay reveal for Borderlands 3 today, fully pulling back the curtain on the highly anticipated looter-shooter. Previous trailers for the game teased a whole ton of action, intriguing characters and worlds, and plenty of guns. During today's livestream, Gearbox offered a bit more context as well as all-new details.

A nearly one-hour livestream, narrated by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, detailed everything new inBorderlands 3 — from the new Vault Hunters to interplanetary travel to the loot you'll find along the way. More specifically, the demo picks up right at the beginning of the game as the player — Amara, the Siren — is led on an introductory mission from Claptrap (ordered by Lilith and the Crimson Raiders) to take over a propaganda station currently being held by the Children of the Vault, one of the game's new factions.

Throughout the demo, we're shown the Quick Change Station, where you can cusotmize your characters apeparance with things like heads, skins, colors, emotes, and ECHO skins. You can also access your skill tree and re-spec your abilities. Some new gameplay mechanics also shown include the ability to slide while sprinting and using mantle ledges to reach elevated surfaces. In the weapon department, some guns will now offer multiple firing modes. Check out the full gameplay reveal livestream below along with another trailer sizzle reel.
