Action-Adventure Borderlands - The Movie

LMAO so this is out today ( This had no tv spots lol) Might see it tomorrow for the ****s and giggles plus cineworld maybe closing down my local so need to use this unlimited while i can. Desperate times call for desperate measures....

Oh lord..... 11% on RT. Unfortunately ive closed the tab for cinema showings. Thats pretty grim. I remember queuing at a gaming expo to play borderlands 3 back in 2018. Im not sure what the fanbase is like these days but they must be a little pissed at how this is being received.

Where are you seeing 11%? I'm seeing 3%.

Kind of genius on Grace's part. Guarantee her review is going to get thousands and thousands of views now.

I mean, it didn't look good, but not THAT horrible. wow

It's cool everyone, GQ says that Cate Blanchett's character in this is one of her most iconic roles. :o

Her bringing up Braindead and saying she loved it.

I knew this was going to be bad from the trailer especially the piss area part. Incompetence isn't really a funny thing so when the girl does not close the window and it gets on her in the car, it is more of a good you deserve it for being stupid reaction from me.

I haven't played the games but it visually, it looked close to the games. Might have to wait now, at least I snagged a Popcorn bucket of clapper (?) and the phone/game remote holder 👀

The amount of times we've heard of films going from R to PG-13, or that should be R, still baffles me. I get maybe wanting to chase that PG-13 rating, but if a story warrants an R rating, just let it be R.

They'll probably release an R-rated version of this movie whenever it's released on streaming.

With the success of the Deadpool movies proving that R-rated movies can be big blockbusters, why do these studios still insist on dumbing down R-rated material? Your product just comes off as uncool and unhip and most of the time you are chasing an audience that isn't there. Is it these marketing teams who are stuck in their own ways and can't think outside of their own boxes and bubbles that are the problem?

And why did they take a video game where the lead characters are young and cast a bunch of old people in their roles? That was a baffling choice.

No studio should ever be afraid of an R-rating anymore but I doubt that would have saved this.

I know (it didn't save Expendables 4), but you literally had the guy who did the first Deadpool movie on reshoots. Which was R rated. And you didn't keep it on that?

Did Avi Arad really think people wanted a PG-13 Borderlands? Yeah, I know a lot of the changes from the games were allegedly Roth's fault and he realized he ****ed up in post and bailed, but still. Arad hired him, he ok'd the PG-13 switch, and probably all of the weird casting choices.

Between this and the Madame Web/Venom 3/Kraven cluster****, Avi Arad's rivaling David Zazlav for most hated man in Hollywood this year.

How many bombs can Arad survive at this point? The games story isn't complex at all, this should have been an easy adaptation.
