I loved the hell out of the first Borderlands. Borderlands 2 didn't click with me the same way. This feels like filler.

Well we'll see how long it'll be before it's on systems like the ps4 and Xbone then. But I pretty much agree on this is being done to make some fast cash on on the end of the older systems.

pretty much. their not the first to do it and in a way we're having two prequel counting the tales/spinoff version in a way.

The next Borderlands isn't Borderlands 3, and it's not being developed by Gearbox. As we learned earlier this week, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel (read our preview!) bridges the gap between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, it's only on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and development has been handed to 2K Australia. Oh, and it's set on the moon.

Placing Borderlands with a new studio and introducing a new setting offered up a chance to reinvigorate the series, says 2K Australia general manager Tony Lawrence. "We had an opportunity to make it fresh. We sat down with these guys from Gearbox Software, talked about where it would be and who the characters would be, and what the fans would really like. The moon was something that came up quite a bit. So that was it: to the moon." The lunar environment naturally lends itself to The Pre-Sequel's headline features like low gravity and the necessity of oxygen. The Pre-Sequel also introduces the ability to freeze and shatter enemies with ice weapons.

And, of course, it has new playable characters. That includes allowing players to play as Claptrap for the first time, something that could be equal parts amusement and annoyance – but we'll get to that in a moment.Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!

It's mostly out source to a team that's familiar with the games from Australia . But some members of the main Gear box team are on it as well, as that video states. So we can't say if they didn't work on it, it's not worth buying.

2K Games has released a new trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel that features a nice little dance party on the moon. Oh, and it also confirms the game's official release date. Vault Hunters will be heading to the moon on October 14

Borderlands' Pandora is a weird place, filled with slag-spewing skags, cyborg ninjas, sarcastic robots and psychotic midgets. After watching the first 30 minutes of Telltale Games' next series Tales from the Borderlands in an E3 demo, I think Pandora's about to get even weirder. But not because Telltale is introducing an alien zoo of new creatures—rather, because the combination of Telltale storytelling and Gearbox insanity is 100% as bizarre as everyone thought it would be.​

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel New Trailer

2K has released a new trailer for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel that features Handsome jack teaching players how to survive on the moon. The trailer teaches players about low gravity, slamming into the ground, character skills, new loot, laser guns, and more. The video was originally shown to the press before getting hands-on time at E3, but now it’s online for all to enjoy. The publisher also promised to release a video walkthrough of the E3 demo next week.

The game is set between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2, and sees players take control of Athena “the Gladiator,” Wilhelm “the Enforcer,” Nisha “the Lawbringer,” and Claptrap “the Fragtrap,” who are all working for Handsome Jack.
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be available from October 14 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
