Bored to Death

So I just watched finished the third season and I'm dissatisfied by it, in my opinion it's not as strong as the second season. The season finale was decent but I hate if the show ends just like that, so I hope it gets renewed for a fourth season. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't.

It doesn't beat season 2 but nonetheless there's good moments sprinkled throughout the season. The chemistry and the wit between Jason, Zach and Ted is good and their characters is always getting a stronger bond by every episode. It'd be nice to see a fourth season but if it doesn't get picked up, that's...uhm an interesting way to end the whole series.

Yeah, the fact that they played the incest angle straight and ended it in the manner they did was kind of....well....creepy. I loved the reveal at the end of the penultimate episode, but where they took it in the finale....ick. I feel like we need a season 4 just to have it blow up in Jonathan's face with hilarious results because ending the show with him being with his sister is just icky.

Yeah it could set up for something interesting for the next season if it gets picked up. I like Ray's line to Jonathan though but ugh, if the show ended like that. The show is good with having hilarious situations and while there's substantial in this season after the high note of season 2 ended on I thought they were going to amp up instead of playing it down, so I was a bit disappointed by the season.

The thing is the show is great with the three main characters together and too much of the episodes in this season is them having their own journey, that doesn't mean it's bad or anything but it feels off and loses a bit on what makes the show interesting in the first place.

I agree. The trio definitely could have used some more interaction this season.

I wonder if the cliffhanger was a way to force HBO's hand? Basically, "Either pick us up or the show ends in incest. Either way, **** you!" Seems like something these writers would do. :hehe:

Started watching this show last Thursday and I fell in love with it. Watched all three seasons over the weekend and today. I hope it gets picked up for another season.

HBO Cancels Bored to Death
HBO has renewed its low-rated but critically applauded comedy "Enlightened" while canceling half-hour laffers "Hung," "How to Make It in America" and "Bored to Death."

I'm sad to see this show go (although I'm not surprised that HBO cancel it, given the low ratings), but what frustrates me the most is that we never got a proper closure to the show, it ended on a weird note (IMO).

Ah well, I wish the latest season was more like season 2, perhaps it could've continued instead of being canceled. It sucks we won't see the characters again but despite having 3 seasons it had a good run. What a weird way to end the whole series but it's somewhat acceptable, in a way.

So it ends with Jonathan getting together with his sister. Yikes. In a weird way though, it is almost a fitting ending for the show.

HBO Considering Bored to Death Movie
There's a glimmer of hope for Bored to Death fans today. The canceled HBO show, which aired its final episode in November, might have one more outing as a movie. Yesterday at the Monte Carlo Television Festival, Ted Danson told French journalist Pierre Langlas that there was a good chance of a 90-minute movie happening. A rep from HBO tells Vulture that there have "been some conversations" about a BTD movie, but "it's at a very early stage."

It'd be great if they made a TV movie that wraps up the somewhat unresolved series. But it probably won't happen but the fact that HBO is even considering the idea makes me hopeful.

Man, I had no idea this got the axe with Hung. I'm sad now :( lol for real though, I ****ing miss this show. How the **** does Enlightened get renewed?!?! I stopped after one episode! That's rare for me! Smh. HBO is just trying to find their The Big C THAT'S IT

**** i liked Bored to Death more than Big C. Bored to Death might come back though.

Big C is a damn good show though man. Gotta give credit where it's due but yea this show was just SOOOO MUCH FUN! Danson, Zach and Schwartzman were just ****ing phenomenal in this

oh dont get me wrong, Big C is fantastic. Showtime has been great lately with Weeds, Big C, and a reborn Dexter.

But BtD was just so awesomely fun. Galifinakis, Danson ...just such a 'stoner' type funny show that you just smile while watching.

Oh yea no doubt. I'm actually tryin to quit toking right now and just thinking about this show makes it a little difficult lol
