Bored to Death

Is anyone else still watching? It just got renewed for a third season.

I gotta admit, I didn't love the pilot, but then towards the end of season 1, I left the TV on after Curb and caught another episode and noticed it was considerably better. That caused me to watch season one on demand. It was a rough start, but towards the end of season one the actors really started to find their footing and get comfortable in their characters and the writers really discovered their voice.

Season 2 has stepped up its game in ways I cannot describe. Every episode is better than the last. The characters (Jonathan, Ray, and George) have transformed from boring hipster elitists (as they were in the pilot) to lovable losers who you can't help but root and feel for. This has become one of my favorite shows.

I watch this show too. I cant say im in love with it but i like it enough to tune in every week. I wasnt a huge fan of season 1 but season 2 has been alot better. It seems to be one of those really quiet shows because i hear absolutely no buzz about it from mainstream media.

I have missed this entire season. Going to have to catch up one day.

I absolutely adore this show! George and Ray absolutely make the show for me! Ted Danson is a comical genius but with just the right amount of heart. That whole lil speech he gave to Johnathan about how we are like light switches and can just one day be turned off then saying "I dont want to be turned off." That really almost made me tear up, which is crazy because of all the crazed debauchery going on all over the place. I hope Johnathan beats Louis Greens ass again in the finale this Sunday

Just caught up on most of this season. Hilarious, as always. I'm glad Ray got more this season. Zach Galifianakis is amazing.

I just finished with the first season, great show even if it started slow but towards the end it gets better and I gotta say Schwartzman, Galifianakis and Danson are just great in it.

I agree, the show took some time to find its footing and tone, but by season 2 the show really hits its stride and quits trying so hard to be some overly intelligent hipster bait and becomes just a really funny show about three lovable losers.

Finished with season 2, while the first season was good this season was a improvement in almost every aspect and all the episodes are top-notch.
Looking forward to season 3. :)

I love this show. I agree what has been said about season 2 and hoping season 3 continue with the same excellent quality.

Just started watching recently...

seen all episodes....but this show is something special. it really is. Ted Dansons' character is hilarious. Schwartzman(sp?) is perfect as a lead. and Zach (fat jesus) is awesome as well. great group of actors that fit their parts amazingly.

hopefully this gets some more recognition, reminds me of sleepers shows like Weeds its first couple of seasons, Dexter its 1st season, and especially Eastbound and Down. HBO has 2 of the best comedies/shows right now.

Hell between Showtime and HBO, i could live without basic cable.

Danson's character, George, really makes the show for me. One of my favorite moments is still that scene in season 1 where George and Ray got stoned while they were supposed to be helping Jonathan on a case. Jonathan comes back to the car and George is like, "Look, Jonathan, I'm drawing! Oh, I feel like a child again!" The way he delivered that line and the context and everything, I was on the floor cracking up. :lmao:

One moment that always crack me up it's the first episode in season 2, Jonathan running away from the S&M dungeon with the whole S&M gear through NY with people staring at him. :funny:

I can't hardly wait for this show to return. :woot:

Awesome. Surprisingly, Ted Danson totally steals the show for me in almost every episode.

Just saw the season 3 premiere and it was great. One thing I liked about the episode was that Jonathan is more experience with his professional job, at least it appears so. Oh, and the part where the baby sucked Ray's nipple was freakin' hilarious. :funny:

Overall, the third season is off to a pretty good start and I'm just so happy that this show has returned. Anyone else caught the season premiere?

ya, i just watched it, this show is great, I love the goofy world they've created.

The case Jonathan is working is very noiry, looking forward to see more of that. Good to see Ray again, this time as a dad, oh man. "It's not a nipple, it's a goddamn sippy cup."

The latest episode was great. The humor in it was woven nicely in and just having the three of them together is pure comedy gold. I'm very interested to see Jonathan tracking down his real father.

One thing that got me laughing on the latest episode is the mispronunciation of Louis' book title. "The Big Black **** of Time". :lmao:
