How many over seas markets are yet to open?
You know,....I remember 6, 7 years ago...something like that....when they were first talking about the FF movie...maybe not that long ago but anyway,....they mentioned at the time that they were going to do a period piece placing the FF in the '60's with an emphasis on humor and light heartedness. I was excited about the prospect of having them put in the 60's but I wasn't too sure or thrilled about the jokey part. How do things get so far off focus?
Fox's "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" stayed on the radar with $7.9 million at 3,055 markets for a $96.7 million cume -- in line with forecasts by Fox, which hasn't yet opened the sequel in France, Japan, South Korea or Spain. "Surfer" needs another $80 million to match the "Fantastic Four" international total. -Variety
Too many dame hands in the pot. I'm sure a big hunk went in Singers pocket. He refused to do X-Men 3 because Fox would not give him what he wanted.[/quote]
And what was that? To give Superman bikini briefs and make him a metrosexual from Metropolis?
1. 130 to 135 domestic, 330 to 350 WW
2. Sequel ? Yes book it. Same writer, same director
3. Better than this one.
Bonus prediction : They will show Mark Frost the negative zone, push him in, and bolt the door.

I know 20 million went to Cage. I'm sure a big hunk went in Singers pocket. quote]
20 million went to Cage....That's obscene. Just because he didn't get to do it he gets that kind of compensation. Just obscene.

I just have to say that if Live Free or Die Hard actually cost $110 million to make, as has been reported in some areas, then why does it seem so huge and awesome? Really makes you wonder where the money went on movies like Spider-Man 3. I mean, everyone was under contract for that movie from the beginning, so huge raises weren't a factor. And yet somehow it ends up running $250 million. Between Spidey's runaway price tag and FF's $130 million, I guess CGI really does make your budget zoom much, much higher. Die Hard only uses CGI for one sequence that I'm aware of.
Allright Carp Man,
What is Japan going to take in before all said and done?
Also look at how much TF was said to have cost. 150 million. Where in the world did Sony spend 250 million at for SM3?? Also where did WB spend 200 plus mil on SR? TF's fx looked incrediable and was way better then SM3, and Superman Returns fx looked great, on par with TF. Both SR and TF looked aboutthe same budget wise, but you also have to add that SR cast pay was cheaper then TF.
I think the 1st one took in 9 million, so i'll go conservative and say...
8 million.
So Carp What do ya say to This ?
TRANSFORMERS

Situations like these are the reasons why I have never voted on polls like this BEFORE a movie opens. I always end up looking stupid, and so it is the case here. These drops are terrible. What happened????![]()
He would've gotten that much either way. It was a pay-or-play deal. Which means he gets $20 million no matter what, regardless of whether he plays the part or doesn't.

I realize that. It's still obscene. Pay-or-play. Give me a break. I know a musician-slash-school teacher who needs that money more than Nicholas Cage.
