Rise of the Silver Surfer BOX OFFICE Discussion

^ So then what's the point of making all the guesses here??? So we can scroll through the thread post by post to see what people think now. I think an early poll now and a 2.0 poll later would be cool but hey...that's just me.

I was thinking that as well....don't know.....people seem to try and be the first to get whatever they can up around here......its just part of the hype...lol

^ I was making a point by saying "what's the point". I like all the early speculation and the early polls. That way if I don't feel like reading through an entire thread and can gauge everyone's thoughts now and compare them to later.

I can agree with that.....going from a 56 million opening to a 75 million opening, in my opinion, would be close to a miracle.....

But HEY, I believe in miracles......:woot:

well believe it cause its mad likely! Fox's marketing has gotten such opening weekend as

X3-103 MILLION
SITH-108 MILLION
X2-85 MILLION
XMEN-55 MILLION
FANTASTIC 4-56 MILLION
MR. AND MRS. SMITH-50 MILLION

they KNOW what their doing.

Sorry I missed the point of your point.....:cwink: So what was your point....:oldrazz:

It's got the best release date of this summers blockbusters and i expect a $70M opening with the movie perhaps even getting over the $200M domestic mark if it's good.

Release day is soooo key in this one. If word of mouth is strong and the opening weekend is huge it should gain enough momentum to trounce on "Earth Stood Still". TDTEST will probably have a very deceptive marketing campaign showing lots of action from the ending of the film...where it all is.

I'll avoid getting into the whole debate yet again about how different this version of TDTESS will be and just say that it has nothing to do with this movie at all as it's released next year.

^ Oh hell I thought I was in the Iron Man forums. LOL

Yeah I agree also regarding FF's date being great. Not as good as May 2nd but a killer date because of the boost it'll get later on the holiday weekend.

I'd like to point out that all the fingerpointing that goes on in this thread is completely pointless. Many of you have missed the point entirely, so I'd just like to point you all back in the right direction.

Well, I think I've made my point. 'Nuff said.

i think FF's date is much better,it has a nice clear run,IM is gonna get swamped after the first week with TDTESS,Narnia,Indy 4 and Speed Racer.

Um, why? That would be redundant. This one is fine, and a poll can be added closer to release. In fact, watch this....

*edits title*

Et viola.

The 15th of May is a lot closer to opening. About 30 days close. What would a prediction thread without a poll be ? Of course I'll add a poll. 2 to be exact. Mabey 3 if I decided to add an opening weekend poll also. You know The Thing 2005 loves polls. I like women twirling around on them also. :woot:

thanx for this, I had no idea they were remaking TDTESS.:yay:

:whatever: :whatever: :whatever:

After the massive opening for an R rated smaller comic book movie like 300 has anyone's predictions for FF2 altered ?
