Rise of the Silver Surfer BOX OFFICE Discussion

:whatever: No way, you gotta stick with one girl especially when a screen name reflects that. lol.

Eh, I guess I can't stand that fake look that Fox has. The one who trumps them both is Jessica Biel. :P

I've been married 34 years. So I don't worry about it. :woot:

See TF's your think differently. but what am i thinking TF stole FF2 spot so you never will.

I would't go see it for 50 cents, dispite that. It has zero interest to me. By the time TF's came out, I was way past the toy robot stage.

Yeah, he's into degrading women locker room sex talk now.......he's come a long way baby.

HP wins. It's no contest. As for FF, the 1st movie made 154 dom, 330 WW. It's not going to equal domestic. It may WW, but we'll have to wait and see. Still has 20 markets to open in.

How much does FF2 need to make to break even? We're not even including marketing costs....at least another 60 million on top of the 130 million dollar budget.....So Carp, is FF2 a failure if it doesn't make back its budget domestically?

I don't care about how much it makes at the box office, or if it's profitable. That's for Fox, and Marvel to worry about. I go for the movie. The movie was excelent, a suscess in every sense of the word. Box office ? I don't know. Seems 130 to 135 is about it domestic. If it can't pull 300 WW, that would be a huge disapiointment. If it can pull WW as much as the 1st, I would call that a moderate suscess. I think it will do very well in DVD sales, and rentals. Then there's cable, regular TV, toy tie ins. By The time the last bean is counted, and everyone gets their piece, there will be a profit. I really thought it would do better then the 1st domesticly, but hey, that's the way the box office cookie crumbles.

:wow: I thought you were in your late teens/early twenties. Haha. That's awesome that you've been married that long. Let's hope for another 34 years!

The film was never going to make its budget back domestically, but it looks like it may not make it worldwide either...so it will have to rely on DVD's, Merchandising, etc.

I hope so. 34 more years, my wife will be 96, and I'll be 86. :wow: I was 18, my wife was 28 when we married.

Yes. I consider myself very lucky. :woot: We have 5 children, 31 to 23, and 3 grandchildren. 1 girl, twin boys.

You are a very lucky man Carp, or Carp Man...lol. You have a nice big family. Good to see the family intact and congrats on the grandchildren. :woot: Must be having fun spoiling them...and teaching them about comic books and stuff. lol.

Our grandaughter will be 3, and our twin grandboys are 9 months. Comic books ? If their interested. I have the 1st 120 issues of FF.

Ah, too young for comics...haha...but soon... :woot: Hehe.

I got a lot of stuff from my Youth. The original USS Enterprise model from 1967, lots of models of superheros I built from kits when I was a kid. The Batmobile, Batman, Robin, Joker, Penguine, Superman, and a lot of others. When I was a kid, I had shelvs, and shelvs of comics. All kinds.

Nice, I used to have a lot of comics until I sold them which I now kick myself for doing. lol. When your grandchildren are older you can show them all the stuff you have without them breaking it. lol. :P

I have 1 bookcase, with all my models on it. My model of the Enterprise is in a plastic display case. Lights still work on it too. I've been offered a lot of money for it over the years, but some things transend money. Like my comics. The 1st 120 issues of FF in mint condition. They have all been certified 10.

Wow, Surfer hasn't even made it's budget back yet domestically. I wonder how plans of a sequel are going...
