JACKSON, Ohio – Police say an angry 4-year-old Ohio boy grabbed a gun from a closet and shot his baby sitter. Nathan Beavers, 18, was hospitalized Sunday with minor wounds to his arm and side after the shotgun attack. Police say another teen was also injured.
Witnesses told police the child was angry because Beavers accidentally stepped on his foot. Beavers was watching the child at a mobile home in Jackson with several other teenagers and several other children.
Jackson County Sheriff John Shashteen says authorities are investigating. The child has not been charged.

Who leaves their gun lying in a closet?

i'm not all that surprised.. theres alot of stupid gun owners out there, their lucky they didnt die. .. wait, a 4 year old weilding a shotgun.. ok that IS kinda impressive in a sence, it must have been like a pole vault pole to him.

Baby sitter shoulda been a little more careful

Shooting in Butte, Montana

Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders :

Butte, Montana November 5, 2007

Two illegal aliens, Raphael Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, & MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........an 11 year old girl, properly trained, defended her home and herself.... ..against two murderous, illegal aliens .......and she wins, she is still alive.

Now that is Gun Control!

Thought for the day:

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'

^ my mom sent me that

I am a southerner and we have guns on the gun rack and some guns in drawers but luckily we hide the ammo!

I'm more surprised the kid managed to shoot a shotgun.

Keeping a loaded gun sitting in your closet when you have a child at home is just asking for trouble. Maybe now they'll learn to keep the gun out of the reach of a 4 year old, keep it unloaded until needed, tell their kid not to touch any freaking guns until he's older.

How the hell did the kid fire the thing? The recoil must of sent him flying!

I want to know how a four year old knew how to operate a shotgun. Unless... Oh... A dumbass parent left a loaded shotgun within reach of a ****ing 4 year old.

Yea that's a point, how did the kid know how to use it? Who teaches a 4 year old how to load and operate a gun?

I just brought this up in my office and a couple of my coworkers have said that they've taken their kids out to shoot as young as 2 1/2 years old!

I've got to say that's way too young for someone to be able to excersize good judgement with a lethal device. Way too young.

I won't get into the whole gun control thing, but who the **** leaves it unlocked where they have kids?

What are they going to do to a four year old?

I think they should probably charge the parents with neglect and... manslaughter by proxy?

This all sounds a little suspicious. I bet those teenagers were playing with the gun and accidentally shot it then decided to blame it on the 4 year old. I mean really, how could he have done it?

Shot gun out in the open for kids to reach .... CHECK!

Babysitters available whose last name is Beavers....CHECK!

Trailer Home...CHECK!

Four year old boy that knows how to operate shotgun....CHECK!

Yes, its official, these people are rednecks :o

I know of personal accounts that put kids using guns. If the kid had been told how to use it and it was already loaded I wouldn't put it past him.

Also:
The Article said:

That indicates to ME that there were other people that saw the event.

More importantly, who hires a male babysitter?

Strangely enough, I thought the exact same thing when I was finished reading the article... not "how did the kid know how to use the gun?" or "who leaves a loaded rifle lying around?", but "male babysitter?"

:lmao:
