Documentary/Biopic Boy George & Culture Club Bio-Pic Incoming....

I don’t know how many people are clamouring for a Boy George biopic.

Then again I thought the same for Elton John and that’s apparently great from early reviews.

Bring on David Bowie.

Danny Boyle was 'sounded out' for a Bowie bio-pic a few years back but it never came to pass at that point in history. Given his passing, it may come round again for a possibility.

The total drama behind the scenes of that band would be a movie in itself, especially the situation between George and drummer John Moss.

It is a very intense story and I can see it doing well, I for one, would definitely go and see it.

As long as they don't sugarcoat anything and present George as the wonderfully talented bag of donkey **** he is.

I think George really loved Jon Moss, whereas Jon was just "experimenting" with him before going back to women. The total ****show that kind of situation presents (which happens alot, trust me) is great movie drama.

Elton John is huge though. Boy George is well known from that era but Elton is on a whole other level.

I guess I mean on the god like level of Freddie Mercury. David Bowie is probably next in popularity of that 70s/80s rock glam world. I don’t think Elton John approaches them in terms of musical popularity.

I’m a bit surprised at this since Boy George is nowhere near as popular as Queen or Elton. But I suppose this is considerably less difficult than producing a Beatles or Rolling Stones biopic.

Boy George totally warrants a biopic. He was just as influential with his music, style and androgyny in the 80s just as much as Madonna, Prince and Cyndi Lauper. He’s led an interesting life and career.

Not even trying to be funny but I could almost see Sophie Turner playing him.

She could work. Can she sing though? And do they digitally deepen her voice (although not by that much)?

And does that mean that Dark Phoenix looks like Boy George?

And apparently she does think she looks like Boy George.

"Game Of Thrones" Star Sophie Turner Thinks She Looks Like Boy George

She posted about it on her Instagram, but then deleted it.

After a Reddit user noted the physical resemblance between singer Boy George and Game of Thrones' Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, the actress took to Instagram to weigh in.

"People tell me about this ... I guess it's true," she captioned the photo.

Plus, "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" is kind of the perfect theme song for Sansa when you think about it.

Can Arnold Schwarzenegger make a cameo?

“Why don’t they just call him Girl George?”

British Invasiaon of biopics begins. What's next a biopic about the Beatles?

I know, I couldn't type that with a straight face.

If it was the 1970s, I'd totally be in favour of Sophie Turner as Boy George. Sadly these days the PC pronoun mafia would be up in arms over this, even if it was artistically defensible.

Could it not work the other way round? One could argue it's not PC but sexist to prevent a woman trying out for a man's role and that they should have equal opportunities.

I'm patiently waiting for the growing music biopic craze to work its way around to Fleetwood Mac.

Why does it have to be a movie? Make it a documentary: just give Stevie Nicks an 8-ball and make her wear a go-pro for 48 hours. More action than Infinity War and Endgame put together.

They already did a Culture Club TV film called Worried about the Boy so I wonder how a feature film would differ.

In terms of biopics, I'd probably say either George Michael or The Bee Gees would be good, there's been a biopic for development about the latter for a few years now.
