So...who to is also :cmad: about what they are doing to Spidey. Cast your vote and tell us the reasons why.

-Unmasked
-Peter is more like a sidekick then a hero
-Killing the marriage to MJ
-Made a deal with the devil
-Joe Quasada...nuff said.

This vote is for the 616 verse, not any other spidey titles. (USM, Mary Jane loves Spider-Man, Marvel Adventures)

I voted "No"... but there should have been a 4th option, as in "No... I don't like the changes, but I'll still be getting it and see where it goes".

I know it's closer to the second option, but I don't like that "maybe" because I will definitely get the books.

I've been reading comics monthly for close to 33 years, and I've seen good times and bad times, and when it gets bad, it tends to get better at some point.

If I had decided to boycott comics when it got bad, I would have stopped buying books 15 to 20 years ago.

Just my two cents...

:yay:

I hate to say it, but I haven't bought a 616 Spider-Man comic in months :csad:

Well, right now, they only come out every three months. (blatant stab at Joe Q)

ANYWAYS...

Honestly, I've given up on OMD. BND will get at least one issue to entice me...and by that, I mean that I will read it in the store, and decide whether or not to throw money at it. I'm leaning towards "NO"...but I'd hate to be too hasty, and then have to eat my own words later on.

Well, it's not like we're all on the edge of our seats with excitement waiting for the next issue.

Off topic: I just read your sig and saw your avvy. Congrats on the baby, shin. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy  :yay:

I don't understand this remark. Who is Peter being a sidekick to?

Not really thinking for hiimself and getting pushed into doing stuff he'll regret later one...example: Unmasking.

A discussion that is going on in the OMD thread...Peter makes
a deal with a demon/devil
which a true hero would never do.

I've been waiting 20 years for this,(or at least until I realized I didn't like the marriage) I'm going nowhere.

Well, even though I don't like what they have been doing (I did like Back in Black though), I still will continue reading the Spidey comic's. I just can't give up.

I don't know...this is the comic i've been with from the beginning....but >bleh< ...they're getting pretty bad, ...especially now that the story has been replaced with an agenda.

Hoestly, I'm not feeling the "heart" in the stories anymore...and this cheese is the foundation for the Brand New Delay coming up, so as of right now, things are looking bleak.

But, I am sure once they retcon ALL of this ONE YEAR FROM NOW...i'll be back.

For now, I'll be glancing at them at the store, and shaking my head in disbelief THERE.

I hate OMD and the direction Marvel's going, but I'm still buying to see if there's any entertaining stories

Well, I am liking how Brand New Day is sounding right about now. As much as I despise what's going on now, and how much they're dragging it out. Just the thought of being free from another event (2 freakin' years of em')makes me happy.

Already dropped it on OMD #2.

-Sins Past was the first straw
-The other was the second. At this point I dropped Friendly and Sensational.
-Didn't really hate the unmasking too much, but I didn't like how it happened. Peter would never do it willingly. None the less the 3rd straw, but continued reading based on hope.
-BIB almost kept me interested, but OMD was like a killing blow to my love of the comic.
-Also the organtic web shooters were a contributing factor in this, aswell.

I didn't like the Totemistic theory, but I thought it wasn't harmful as long as it stayed theory... Then Norman came... and boned Gwen in the past, thus creating Goblin Babies...
Strike ONE! (I decided to not buy Sins Past)
I was going to return when... Then The totemistic theory became fact... in the other...
Strike TWO! (Luckily I had stopped by sins past)
I try to give Marvel a third chance when... Peter Parker II is a newborn with the body of an adult, he loses his free will and becomes a sidekick to stark... (Enter the Iron spider suit... a.k.a. the robin suit, currently the Scarlet Wannabe Spiders uniform) and Peter II unmasks in front of an audience...
STRIKE THREE!!! (Hello? Peter Parker Unmasking? Hath Hell frozen over?)
Sniper hits Aunt May now Peter and/or MJ are making a deal with THE FRICKIN' DEVIL! Who wants their Marriage (love) in exchange for Aunt May...(Of all the people in the Marvel Universe, only THE DEVIL can help? Now that's lame...)
Now MJ is supposed to come back as a super powered being called Jackpot...
(Do you hate me Marvel? every time I wanna go back you push me away...)

haha....what a web they weaved! Don't forget his arm hair now tells him the direction of the wind if he is underground too! :cwink:

And he can see in the dark. That's useful for someone who's as tech savy and spider-sensory as him.

Well I want to drop it badly for the simple fact that there hasn't been a good 616 Spider-man story in a very long time now. I'm not delusional. The comics are bad but, Spider-man is the reason I collect comics. Hell he's my favorite character in any media form, not just comics. I'm upset because it's almost as if Marvel has forced me into this position of not knowing whether I'm going to continue along collecting the comics.....the books are just...really bad. There is no other way to put it.

Well, here's hoping that they finally become "good".

:yay:

Oh I completely forgot TEH STINGERZ!!! and the fact that Peter II is the Spider-God's chosen one... (Wheee-ooh Pee-ooh Wheee-oooh!)
and the uber awesome "NEW"ability to stick to surfaces with his entire body... which he already had...

If they erase the MJ marraige, then I'll be dropping it...but I wouldnt call that a boycot, just you know...me not buying it anymore...

Hmm, seems January is gonna be a big drop off point for real web heads, and any true fans that keep on after that point, well I hope they have fun.

I reckon I'm done pending OMD's inevitable outcome.

I gave up on Spiderman in the mid-90's. It's going to be great to finally be able to read the book again after OMD. OMD may be a really dumb story or quick fix, but I can't argue with the results!

IF the ends justify the means maybe i'll be able to pick up a book again since i haven't read anything after asm 500

Stopped after the Other. Haven't been back yet.
