I've never seen this movie, but I have seen clips from it. It's one of Peter Jackson's first movies, so it's pretty out-going. This is the best part in the movie, as said by fans, and I agree. It's very gorey, but funny (cheesy gorey) Just watch it!

the movie is great, I loved it. The best scene is the Lawnmower in the Dinner party.

That was back when Peter Jackson was a Sam Raimi wannabe. And, people think Raimi can't handle a Hobbit movie.

Someone beat me ot the punch with the comparison to the Evil Dead movies. Braindead indeed feels like a poor man's Evil Dead 2. It's inferior in almost everyway. The way it's shot is far too bright which makes all the gore look far too grotesque to be enjoyed. The acting is awful and the story is trite as hell in terms of love. However there are some priceless gore sequences that do manage to still be fun such as the lawnmower shot and you got to love the Freudian ending. So it's not bad however it's not worth seekign out.
