Taken with a grain of salt, this was the story that got Smith all riled up, along with the conflicting reports.

Bin Laden’s daughter confirms her father shot dead by US Special Forces in Pakistan
The official said a 12-year-old daughter of bin Laden was among the six children rescued from the three-storey compound.

The daughter has reportedly told her Pakistani investigators that the US forces captured her father alive but shot him dead in front of family members.

According to sources, Bin Laden was staying on the ground floor of the house and was dragged on the floor to the helicopter after being shot dead by US commandos.

Have they finally released a conclusive story yet as to what happen? Seems to be different stories coming out of the administration. Saw a youtube clip Shepard Smith going bonkers over this. There was a follow up where he tried to do a FOIA on the photo. Apparently it is not subject to that Act.

The one story that stands out is the Eric Holder one. MSNBC claims Covering ass? The justification is not the problem, but the different official reports on the actions is just bizarre.

The question of "you have talked about fire fights, who exactly was firing back at the navy seals?" Carney came up with this answer that was soooooo channeling Gibbs....lol

I have not seen Carney flustered like that up until now....

Here is my take on the picture...

Why was it soooooooooooooooooo important that Iraqi's see Hussein hung.....and yet its not important that we see a "picture"?

It's funny that the ones saying we don't need to see the picture, have actually seen the picture.

I can definitely see that.....AND, HONESTLY.....I say we start fully pulling out of Afghanistan, tomorrow.....

But you guys know my stance on war, so that probably is not surprising...

No way you read that in 1-2 minutes Kel. :funny:

Here is the video:

It would make more sense to capture, then torture somewhere else, and then kill. As opposed to torturing him on the spot.

Do I think that happened? It's hard to tell at this point because we've yet to get a true "official" story.

I have no desire to see these photos.

They won't settle anything. Skeptics and conspiracy theorists will just think they were faked.

I worry about the ramifications of making these photos public - not just from allies and enemies overseas. I'm already starting to see some unpleasant t-shirts and other assorted memorabilia regarding bin Laden's death, so make no mistake, people will do the same with these photos if they get their hands on them. If you thought people celebrating in the street on Sunday night was tacky...I don't even want to think of the possibilities that could happen with these photos. They will pull this kind of crap.

And just on a common sense note...I don't these photos so public where kids can see them. I just have visions of my 3-year-old nephew stumbling on this if the news is on TV, and I don't want that to happen. Maybe that's just me.

Obama is now backtracking yet again.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/pakistan/8487374/Osama-bin-Laden-killed-live.html
Yet another backtrack and change of tune from the White House has emerged over the fact that Obama did NOT watch the raid live and did not see the moment Osama bin Laden was shot dead. In fact the video feed stopped before US special forces stormed bin Laden's hideaway.

The White House originally said that President Obama and Hillary Clinton watched the raid as it happened and in effect encouraged the world's media to report that they had watched "the drama unfold".

But now CIA chief Leon Panetta has admitted that, not only was there a 25 minute delay in the live feed and a blackout as has already been reported, in fact the video being played to the president stopped as troops got to the bin Laden compound. And the president did not see any subsequent action on the ground, including the fatal shooting of Osama bin Laden.

It's funny that the ones saying we don't need to see the picture, have actually seen the picture.

Forensic scientists can do some amazing things with just a set photographs, tell how a person was shot, the angle from which they were shot, etc.

If I had to guess....and this is purely a guess...I think that there is a chance that the alleged story from Bin Laden's daughter may be true. Bin Laden was executed rather than killed in battle. And now there are stories coming out that Bin Laden did not have a weapon but they "thought," that he was reaching for one? Seems to me like they are feeding us information as a contingency for when these photos are leaked.

Make no mistake, these photos will come out eventually, the American people want them....the only reason not to release them is if they show something that we do not want to be seen. The story that these pictures tell, I think, is very different from the story that we are being told, I think. And honestly....I'm fine with it. If that scum bag was told to get down on his knees and forced wrap his lips around the barrel of a gun as a SEAL pulled the trigger, that is absolutely fine with me.

**** man, and you wonder why people distrust the government. What the **** is this wishy washy horse****.

I completely agree with you on these points. It's only natural that people are going to use whatever they can to cash in on this.

And with the kids, my mother was trying to explain what happened to my 6 year old niece and my 10 year old nephew after watching the news with them on monday, and I told her to stop because I remember being 12 years old and living in NY during 9/11 and it was a real turning point in my life, not because I was personally impacted someone's death or anything, but because suddenly paranoia felt like the natural feeling to have. I didn't know or understand what exactly was going on except for what I'd hear from word of mouth, which often wasn't the truth, but I remember thinking the world was soon going to end and it was only a matter of time.

…taxes…

Doesn't change the fact that it's a freedom taken away. Returning to economic freedom, since there are more taxes and higher inflation then ever (including what you have to pay to the DHS) it means less money for you to spend on what you want. Less economic freedom.

Actually I don't think thats true.

I'm with you on Afghanistan. Time to get out. Heck, 70% wanted us to get out even before we killed OBL. That number will probably go up now. Iraq, on the other hand, is the quagmire to end all quagmires. It was extremely foolish to wipe out the military of Iran's only rival in the region. The two of them were rivals for decades. They balanced each other out through actual wars against each other as well as policies of deterrence (similar to our Cold War with Russia).

And now Iraq has no military, but they also have the world's second largest oil fields. If we leave, you can bet that Iran will walk right in and use Iraq's oil supply to build their war machine. Should have never gone in. Hell, if we had stayed on Bin Laden's trail in Afghanistan/Pakistan, we probably would have got him much sooner and been able to bring our troops home much sooner. We might be in Iraq forever.

They are trying to give Obama plausible deniability. "I didn't see the feed, I didn't order the execution." Obama witnessed every bit of it (and if he didn't, it makes that situation room photo feel pretty damn fake). He ordered every bit of it. But the sad part is, if it comes out now....the SEAL team, rather than Obama will be scapegoated and possibly put on trial.

I call B.S. on the stream cutting out, they look way too tense in the picture of them watching in the situation room for them to only be watching the helicopter en route and land. I also agree with you Matt that he was executed, those whove seen the pictures says he has a "massive" hole in his forehead, and another in his eye. To me "massive" implies exit wound, therefore we wont be getting the pictures.

Obama needs to be straight and blunt about the story. He dropped a squad and killed Bin Laden without a warning. You already pissed off all the wrong people. These people will be pissed regardless of what you do or say after this. They probably respect Obama less for being so wishy washy about this.

**** me, I can't believe is he is being politically correct over a god damn assassination.

Yeah, Bin Laden wasn't killed in battle....he was executed. This will probably come out eventually. The administration is digging themselves a hole. No one will care aside from extreme leftys if he was executed. Obama should just tell the truth here.
Could this mean he isn't exactly a shoe-in for another term if he's lying and we don't find out until later?

What kind of bullet exactly would leave such a big hole in the head?

Down side of having a president who is more worried about being liked than effective.
