Its really not hard to figure out. Bin Laden was likely executed rather than killed in a fire fight. There are numerous reasons to do this and they all make sense. The problem is, this administration lacks....political maturity for lack of better wording. I mean that in the sense that they do not have the suaveness or consistency of past administrations, like say....Clinton's. Its been one of their biggest weaknesses. They cannot send a consistent message and the right hand never seems to know what the hell the left hand is doing so to speak. Now different arms of the administration are sending out conflicting statements rather than a unified one. This is causing the need for backtracking and a bit of embarrassment.

Yes, its guess work, but its a logical conclusion when you look at all of the contradicting information out there, some of the statements from the civilians in the compound such as the wives and daughter, and the refusal to release pictures. Hell, even the White House is now saying that Bin Laden didn't put up a fight but was "reaching for a gun."

According to the White House on the night that it happened, there were not only photos but videos of the alleged "fire fight."

Like I said, if he was executed, I'm fine with it. We don't know what happened, but its not hard to see that the administration is hiding something. Too many conflicting statements.

I dont understand people begging for Bush credit...im pretty sure Obama gave him credit during his speech

I never said that Bush was asking for credit, I appreciate the fact that he's staying out of it and respect him for doing so. It's these people who are fans of Bush who are saying these things and it's ridiculous. The facts are the man didn't care about Osama, He let Osama go in ToraBora{sp}, So how these people can go around and say if it wasn't for what Bush did Obama wouldn't have gotten him is beyond me.

Like I said above, I was with Bush when he went into Afghanistan to get Osama but he dropped the ball and never picked it back up again. Instead he was more interested in going into Iraq and getting a man that had nothing to do with 9/11.

He deserves credit for going into Afghanistan to get Osama but he deserves none for actually getting him. Hell they didn't even get him in Afghanistan so in a way the whole Afghanistan war was a waste of lives, money and time. All because Bush wanted to go after the man that threatened his daddy.

Yeah, I still haven't seen how anything that Obama said is contradictory to what Panetta has said. From the beginning nobody official (such as Panetta or Obama himself) said that he saw the physical shooting of Osama, didn't they say like the first day that they were sure of Osama's death when a soldier said Geronimo EKIA (enemy killed in action)?

It's funny, if I go to Google News and click they're updating Osama Bin Laden section, across several more well known news outlets I don't see any of the stuff certain posters in here are referencing. All the non-fringe stuff doesn't seem to indicate any sort of contradiction, just further clarification of previously vague or foggy accounts of what happened.

We're getting dangerously close to referencing the National Inquirer as proof.

But, if ye person knew ye facts they would releize that, no matter what else Fox News is, that is a very unfair critisism. As regwec said, there is no official way of transliterating Arabic to ye English Alphabet. I mean, you see Gaddafi spelled as 'Qaddaffi', 'Qadaffi', 'Qadhafi' or 'Khaddafi'.
'Koran' can be rendered as Quran,, Kuran, Qur’ān or even Coran.I've seen OBL'S name spelled as bin Laden or bin Ladin. In old books you find Mohammad's name as 'Mohamet'.

I might be wrong, but could you point me to a source where either Obama or Panetta directly says that Obama watched the kill shot live with his own two eyes, rather than just watching the feed while a kill confirmation was given?

That's generally what I heard from the beginning. I heard that there was some sort of feed going on (situation room photo), but it apparently wasn't especially clear enough for Panetta's narration to not be needed, or was a feed from the helecopter while Panetta was giving a narration of the helmet feed. That's where I don't understand where this "Obama lied and is backtracking about what happened!!!!!" s**t is coming from.
