Breakthrough is an upcoming American Christian drama film written by Grant Nieporte and directed by Roxann Dawson. It is based on the true story of John Smith who fell through ice whilst playing with friends and is put in a coma. The film follows his parents Joyce (Chrissy Metz) and Brian (Josh Lucas) and how despite against all odds their son will not survive, their faith in God keeps their hope and belief alive that John will pull through. The films stars Topher Grace as the Smith's pastor Jason Noble and also guest stars contemporary Christian artist Phil Wickham.

Really excited to see this, both as a Christian and as an adoptee in a mixed-race family; a lot to relate to here - plus, it has a great cast.
