Breast implants linked to suicide?

I've heard of her. Those aren't massive fake ones. Hers are huge by normal standards, but not massive. I've seen massive. Anyway there's no guarentee that she has low self-esteem. There is something you've not even considered. She has a breast fetish, or rather a fetish for making hers bigger. Some people do have a fetish for body modification, even focused on one part. And like most fetishest they'll push it beyond normal.

Also it could simply be greed. You get your boobs done. Now men give you the attention you though you couldn't get. Now it could be that having the tats that you always though you lacked has amde you carry yourself differently. More confidence, more self esteem, more positive feelings about you. So you want more. How? More boobs. Having bigger ones got you this far. Even bigger will get you farther. Simple logic, and a slippery slope. Not I'm complaining I'm a breast man. :)

The word 'fetish' is something I'd usually use for something that turns people on. There aren't many people that get hot by the idea of going under the knife. I wouldn't call it a fetish.

Women that want to be skinny to attract men. It gets them attention, positive feelings, bla bla bla, the stuff you said for women with big breasts. But women that go too far, women that don't eat and throw up the food they do, all in an attempt to become unhealthily skinny, and no matter how skinny they are it's never enough... we call that a disease. It's a disease called anorexia. And it's a mental disease.

Women that want unnaturaelly large boobs... I don't see why we don't call this a disease too. It's the exact same thing as anorexia.

Just like anorexia, wanting bigger breasts and bigger and bigger and bigger, it's all about self esteem. Something that has to come from WITHIN!!!

Getting positive attention from men only gets people so far.

First off, what you described is bulemia, not anorexia. Two different diseases. Second, attracting men is not always the reason some women go to unhealthy extremes to be skinny. There are many reasons they do it, only one of which is to be attractive to men. Don't be so gender-egocentric. The world does not revolve around men when it comes to women.

Women that want unnaturaelly large boobs... I don't see why we don't call this a disease too. It's the exact same thing as anorexia.

Define "unnaturally large". Your idea of it may not be the same as someone elses. It's very subjective. And it's NOT the exact same thing as anorexia. Anorexia is a life-threatening illness that effects all of a person's (yes, person, because there are MEN that get that disease, too) health including their immune and endocrine systems among other things. Getting bigger boobs doesn't cause ANYWHERE NEAR the damage that anorexia or bulemia do.

Just like anorexia, wanting bigger breasts and bigger and bigger and bigger, it's all about self esteem. Something that has to come from WITHIN!!!

So, you're a licensed psychologist, now? Stop stating your opinion as fact.[/quote]

Getting positive attention from men only gets people so far.

Again, you are basing your opinion off of only one possible single motivation for women to augment their body. You leave so much out of the equation.

I have naturally big boobs. But you know what, I'd do anything to have small boobs. Reason being, it's all anyone ever sees.
My best friend got herself a new boyfriend, and told me she didn't want him to meet me because all he would see would be blonde hair and big boobs and want me and not her. It made me feel really bad about myself.
So they're not as great as they're made out to be.
*sigh*, pfffffh, :(
I hear you. It's the same freaking thing with my bulge. :(
"HEY! My FACE is up HERE!!!"

Bingo! If they had suicidal tendencies, it had nothing to do with their implants.

As far as body modification goes, if it makes them feel better about themselves, then good for them. It's their body and they can do whatever they want with it. Do some people take it to extremes or outside the boundaries of practicality or even good taste? Sure they do, but that's their choice. Not everyone who gets some sort of augmentation done is quite so obvious, though. Maybe it's the woman who wanted a little bit extra cleavage or even a little bit less. Or the man who wanted the big bump on his nose smoothed out. If that makes them feel more comfortable with themselves so they can lead happier, more adjusted lives then more power to them. Some people do have surgery fetishes or unhealthy fixations on augmenting one part of their body repeatedly and there are other possible mental health issues that might need to be addressed there, but even in those cases....it's still their body.

You go girlfriend!!

So you agree with anorexia?? Google "pro-ana", you'd love that stuff.

Stop equating body modification practices and surgeries with anorexia. They are not the same thing, you narrow minded git.

You have little to no experience with fetishes then. There are people who get hot from some really sick things. And if your not into it then, well....

Also surgical addiction only becomes a self mortification phsychosis when you start hacking off good parts like hands, toes, eyes, eyelids, etc. Having a fetish for making your boobs bigger would only qualify if you made them soo big that they were to heavy for your skin to support (and tore) or completely impeded your movements.

If you want to see some women who come close google these 4. Keisha Evans, Chelsea Charms, Penelope Black Diamond, and Sabrina Sabrok.

That's really not what I was trying to imply. I only used the example of women because I was responding to a guy saying breast implants gets women attention from men.

Look it up. Fake breasts do indeed have health risks. Health risks, to the point where you really have to question the sanity of the person that would choose to do that to themselves. If an 18 year old girl wants to get fake breasts, that IS going to cause problems for her later in life. She hasn't finished growing yet! Not to mention the amount of things that can and often do go wrong when getting the surgery. As for "unnaturally large", Leah of Big Brother has to go to another country has British doctors refuse to make her **** any bigger. It's UNHEALTHY!!

So, you're a licensed psychologist, now? Stop stating your opinion as fact.

It's a simple 2 + 2 conclusion. It's common sense. If you have low self esteem, bigger **** is not the answer.

Again, you are basing your opinion off of only one possible single motivation for women to augment their body. You leave so much out of the equation.

I was responding to one specific point another poster was making about positive attention from men. Yes, there are more reasons why people become anorexic and get bigger boobs, and some of those reasons have nothing to do with how men view them.

Rather, it has to do with how the person views themselve.

I see little difference between anorexia and plastic surgery. They are both to do with how a person views themselve. They are both heavily linked to low self esteem. That's not to say there aren't occasions where I do agree with plastic surgery. Burn victims, etc..

And according to your logic on the previous page, Jaq, people can do what they like to their bodies, so you should find nothing wrong with anorexics!!

You're a hypocrite. Accept it. Accept that you're a hypocrite.

Fake breasts are usually not HUGE, kainedomo. The majority of the women that get them just want something a little extra and don't take it to extremes that present health risks to themselves. And, low self esteem is not always the only reason they get them. There are many other reasons that they do, often as unique and individual as the people that do so. Finally, anorexia is a debilitating, life threatening disease. Moving up a couple of bra sizes is not. Comparing the two is a cheap effort on your part to sensationalize plastic surgery in a negative light by associating it with something that few would argue is a good thing.

WTF are you smoking? People CAN Do whatever they like with their bodies. However, when it becomes truly damaging and life threatening or is a sign of mental illness, then it becomes an issue. You just seem to have a MUCH broader scope of what constitutes something being life threatening or a sign of mental illness than I do. It's very inclusive of you, I must say. :down

There are always risks with plastic surgery, Jag.

Visit pro-ana sites. They use the exact same logic that you do.

Just because one is more dangerous than the other doesn't mean that they are not similar.

Some people do have surgery fetishes or unhealthy fixations on augmenting one part of their body repeatedly and there are other possible mental health issues that might need to be addressed there, but even in those cases....it's still their body.

Also, there aren't THAT many reasons for plastic surgery.

Let's take a look. I'll put them into categories.

A-OK: Scars, burns, accidents, attacks that have damaged the body, etc. Sex changes for people that genuinely feel they are the opposite sex of what their organs are.

Maybe: Birth defects.

Not ok: "Fetish" surgery, wants to further their career (modelling, acting, pornstar - similar reasons as to why some people become anorexics), low self esteem, wants to be perfect, very annoyed at a particular body part such as a mole or large nose, addiction to surgery.

The "not ok" reasons can be broken down individually for many reasons as to why some are stupid, some are selfish, and some are better off being solved by finding confidence from within and learning to accept and be happy with your body, and to hell with anyone that isn't ok with your body.

Whatever, man. Enjoy your perspective, kaine. I don't share it and I'm not going to argue with you any further about it.

What if someone just doesn't want to live with a ****ty nose any more?

They just really have to sit and think to themselves "how important is this anyway".

You're culture is more image centered than mine, you dudes put a high price on beauty. It's a different culture. I imagine that's why we disagree so much.

Indeed, you have successfully managed to fend off all infringements of logic and outside perspective against your naivete and limited world view, managing to insulate and protect your precious personal views from absolutely any new evolution or absorption of knowledge. Enjoy your victory.
