It's nice to know that American's aren't the only distasteful country. **** you two for mocking such a horrific day for Americans.

LONDON -- Two British teens have sparked outrage after dressing up for Halloween as the Twin Towers during the 9/11 attacks.

They reportedly received £150 ($240) for winning the "best dressed" competition at a Halloween party at Rosies nightclub in Chester, England.

I'm not amused by these people using a tragedy such as 9/11 for their own stupid entertainment.

Ya that is really tasteless. That is probably the defining moment of the last 13 years and all the pain and misery that was caused that day and by the wars they lead our country into. Just sad that they would want to make light of such a horrible event and even more sad that they won.

Same incredibly senseless mentality the woman had dressing up as a Boston Marathon victim.....I just can't wrap my head around someone thinking that was a good idea, and their friends thinking it was as well...........

Yea or dressing up as Trayvon Martin it's some real messed up people here. None of this stuff is funny.

It's the dawn of the social media boom. Where no one is a person, they are a text message, or a blog post, or a TV report. The disconnect that these are real events, that happened to real people, kids these days don't have emotional connections with people like they used to.

Idiocy, crassness and completely inappropriate attire knows no bounds and is not limited to any one country. One of the most defining moments of the century so far and it's devolved into a costume in order to win money.

I'm not surprised though it is still disappointing some people think it's okay to just turn anything into a joke.

People will do anything for attention/money.

Yes the young folk of today totally invented insensitive costumes and devaluing people. Never before in the history of the world has this ever happened, has to be the social media. :whatever:

It may be tasteless but I gotta give them points for originality.

I understand the strong reactions, I just can't agree with some of them.

However those two girls are obviously idiots and need to be educated as to why their choice of costume was so utterly and disgustingly inappropriate.

As one who loved Halloween cause it gave me an opportunity to dress as my favorite superhero without the mockery that would accompany it as a kid(that was before Superheroes became "cool" to everyone now!) it's sad to see Halloween turn into "Hey! What tasteless costume can i come up with! day"
and I agree alot of these people seem to lack empathy and compassion! not being able to identify with others pain coming up with these outfits! I dont think if they had lost someone who was close to them in a tragedy like 911 or trayvon, they would exactly think it was appropriate to see someone wearing a "costume" of that tragic event!
This is all sorts of crazy!

eh. i want to be morally outraged. but i've been to enough costume competitions to realize that they won because a bunch of their friends were there to "make some noise." hot chicks are always thwarting my chances, at these things.

Cute, very cute.

There's never a certain length of time which can pass before something like this becomes appropriate. Just no go zones as far as I am concerned.

Are you guys actually offended about this? It's a ****ign halloween costume.

That's precisely the point, it reduces an event that included the death of thousands and instigated a decade of foreign policy that led to hundreds of thousands of more deaths around the world, to a trivial joke...and then they were given money for it.

They only won 150 pounds...settle down. They will waste that on liquor and plan b pills and be forgotten in a week.

Eh. They're a couple of idiots, but I see no need for any of us to get worked up over it. Are these girls Hype members? Will they see the righteous indignation in this thread and change their ways?

When people do stupid things like this, they never think of the consequences especially when everyone has a damn camera on their phone and will upload the crap out of it online!

People dress as Nazis on halloween too. Remember Prince Harry got into it over that a few years back.

I don't necessarily agree with that, it's not as outrageous as it would have been 10 years ago, in another 10 years time even less so. It may still be tasteless but it won't be nearly as offensive.

I'd argue they were well aware of what they were doing.

As much as I detest these girls for this, I gotta agree. I mean, although the jokes don't fly around the Hype, a lot of people seem to make jokes regarding Hitler and things like that. Holocaust jokes and such are still distasteful, but it seems like some things, especially things that happened a generation before, become fodder for the jokes of the next.
