Oh Gladiator II will do just fine. It's really the only big blockbuster around for adults who aren't into musicals/family movies.A part of me feels like Gladiator will be a hit too. Don't know about smash hit though. We'll see.
I think the musical's popularity could give it some momentum, it's definitely got more of a chance than that Sam Raimi Oz movie did over a decade ago. I do think that a lot of the audience will be pissed that it's only a Part One. I know that it was originally announced as that but people have short memories, especially when they've been avoiding that in all the marketing for this.I am not so sure if this will be a hit or not. Yeah, Wizard of Oz is a beloved classic, but basically every Oz movie thereafter has ranged from bomb to moderate success. That and it's a musical, which can either be a good or bad thing. Audiences are picky about the genre. I also think padding this into 2.5 hrs is a mistake. This is a 2 part project. I think best bet would have been keep this one about 2hrs and if it's a hit, maybe make Part 2 a longer movie.
I really can see this going either way
Yeah, I think they were filmed all at once. Or at least they had to have been if Part 2's coming out next November.Part 2 was filmed already, right?
Then at least we will get Part 2 regardless if this flops lolYeah, I think they were filmed all at once. Or at least they had to have been if Part 2's coming out next November.
Yep, back to back. Where do you think the Dorothy glimpses are from?Part 2 was filmed already, right?
Just assume none of us have seen Wicked, which speaking for myself, I haven't. How are we supposed to know?Yep, back to back. Where do you think the Dorothy glimpses are from?
Yes, forgive me that I didn't instantly recall thatYep, back to back. Where do you think the Dorothy glimpses are from?
How do you mess up recreating something so simple this badly
I think she should've been smirking but it's not a drastic departure. How do you mess up recreating something so simple this badly

I think Cynthia IS smirking.I think she should've been smirking but it's not a drastic departure.
Considering the track list and the length of the film, it's quite possible Dorothy is in Part 1 in some way. Because there is going to be a lot of "new" material. But alas, having the knowledge of about 80 mins of a musical, means knowing everything that will be in the 160m adaptation movie.Yep, back to back. Where do you think the Dorothy glimpses are from?
It looks photoshopped from two separate images. The colors are bad. You can see her eyes (with no discernable expression) and she's not smirking. Gives off a completely different, artificial vibe.I think she should've been smirking but it's not a drastic departure.
