Brotherhood of the Shield the ones behind SHIELD in Avengers?

A secret organization that was introduced in the 2010 SHIELD comic series and whose roots go back to ancient Egypt, along with another organization called the Brotherhood of the Spear, which became HYDRA. I'm thinking this is that shadow-y council we saw in The Avengers and that we'll see again and likely learn more about in Cap 2. The writers said we would learn more about the history of the MCU in Cap 2, I'm guessing this is a part of that.

I doubt it. Or rather, some little bits of Hickman's lore might get used, but not in its entirety.

Yeah I don't think the entire history is going to be used, but that could be what they call the organization.
