Brown Recluse

What should I do with this damn thing?

  • Kill it

  • Ignore it

  • Take it outside

I'm still fuzzy on what exactly the difference is. Something to do with animals having venom, and poison comes from crabs or something.

Anything that eats birds and/or bugs is cool with me.

Is that your official science answer?

Let me sacrifice a virgin, then I'll be able to tell you the answer.

Seriously though, that was one of those sentences that got away from me and I had to finish it somehow.

Rednecks eats birds and/or bugs.:o

Rednecks are pretty badass.

So are spiders. And they don't need guns or mullets.

I forgot, when I saw this title I thought the thread was going to be about poop.

The Itsy Bitsy Spider went into Walrus's house,
Down came his foot and wiped the Spider out.
Into the toilet and carried down the drain,
And the Itsy Bitsy Spider was never seen again.

I've never been bit by a Brown Recluse thankfully. However, Brown Recluses are ugly spiders. Jumping spiders are my favorite spiders.

Brown Recluse bites are not usually fatal but are extremely painful and would probably have a much higher chance of being fatal for a young child. Brown Recluse spiders are pretty common here in Kansas and one summer I was staffing at a summer camp and one of the other staffers got bit in the... uh... "groin" area by one in his sleep. He could barely move for a whole week. He said it was like he was wearing a sandpaper thong coated in lemon juice. Actually I just made that last part up but he said it hurt really bad.

Poisonous organisms require ingestion or sometimes simply physical contact in order to affect another organism with its poison. This is primarily defensive.

Venomous organisms (non-plants) inject venom produced in glands into another organism in order to either subdue it or kill it. This is primarily offensive.

I think there are general differences between the chemical compositions of poison and venom as well.

So I was technically correct(ish) before the whole crab debacle in that sentence.
