Has anyone ever wondered how Bruce Wayne came to the thought of Bob Kane as name? I think it's a great of course, but what's the full story on it, how did he come up with it?

"Bruce Wayne" was name Kane derived from Scottish history's Robert the Bruce and Revolutionary War General "Mad" Anthony Wayne.

Now those are cool names he combined, thanks Batman. :D

I heard that Kane based Batman among Zorro, is that true? I'd figure I'd ask here, since you answered my other question. :O

It wasn't Zorro alone, it was a combination of three. One was Zorro, a wealthy playboy/masked hero, second was The Shadow, a very dark superhero, and last was Dracula, who of course was a bat-like creature. In fact Zorro's butler, Bernardo, was his inspiration of creating Alfred Pennyworth.

TONS of inspiration.

Ya know, Zorro's legendary black stallion.....Tornado, served as more or less the inspiration that Batman needed this black namesake vehicle (since cars were in, horses were out).....thus, Batmobile.

Also.....the enterance to the Fox's, Zorro, underground hideout (which was underneath his mansion too) was through a Grandfather Clock.

Lots of inspirations of the (then) Pop culture world and pop magazines went into creating Batman.

Good call too, Bats, on the Shadow too. Lots of people don't even know that.

Don't forget the movie intitled, "The Bat Whispers." That is said to have been another inspiration of Bob Kane's Batman. "The Bat Whispers" stars Chester Morrison as a detective and he is hired to help solve the mystery of the mysterious Bat, who is murdering the wealthy. Ok, bad synopsis I know, but that is the GIST of it. Interesting little movie, considering it was made in 1939. Can't recall weather it was 1935 or 1939 come to think of it. I know there is more than one version.

Superman, The Phantom, Sherlock Holmes, The Shadow, and Dick Tracy were among the many inspirations of batman.

Shadow was what brought on the dark element of Batman, so it should always be noted that he was a character that served in a big way for Kane. People who are fans of his work should know that, it's part of the Bat mythos. Other characters would include, the Green Hornet, Spring Heeled Jack, and even the technical drawings of Leonardo Da Vinci.
