Days of Future Past Bryan Singer Directing X-Men: Days of Future Past - Part 5

Does anyone even care about the 3D in films itself these days? It just seems like the expected thing when you're seeing a blockbuster movie now, to see it in 3d but does anyone actually appreciate it?

The only two times I thought that 3D really added to the movie experience was Avatar and Hugo. Otherwise, meh. Unless I see people rave like crazy about 3D in DoFP I probably won't bother with it either.

CGI animated films usually impress me. I really dug the use of 3D in the title credits for Oz as well. Otherwise the biggest benefit for me is that the 3D midnight showings are usually less crowded then the 2D so its easier to get a good seat.

Most movies aren't actually shot in 3D. Given that DOFP is actually being shot in 3D and not post-converted, that boads very well. Not that post-conversion is always bad, just that more often than not it doesn't really add much, especially if the movie wasn't shot with 3D in mind at all.

Rumor Is going on today that the reshoots for the Wolverine Involve giving
It more a tiein to Days of future past and involve another cameo
Patrick Stewert as Xavier encounter wolverine at airport walking

Here Is my theory what this could be
After Mariko's death towards end of The Wolverine he may see reports of sentinles being unveiled or simply decides he needs to New York. The post credit scene may at airport upon returning he finds no other than Xavier walking. Now In Days of future past If there Is some of surviving mutants being held In prison camp and there Is a prison break Xavier could be directing Wolverine. It appears when DOFP opens Xavier will be walking but he Is sure to be crippled again during course of film.Bryan Singer tweeted 2 wheelchairs. In COmics Xavier was able to walk for awhile when they cloned his body to survive the brood and pput his mind there and he was crippled again In final confrontation with the Shadow King. They may be treating this like the cloned storyline

It would be Intresting to know If James Mangold Is directing these addational
scenes for the wolverine or If Bryan Is as part of DOFP production.Remember Joss whedon directed the Thor post credit scene. The captain America post credit scenes was porton of scene from the avengers

I thought that was all in relation to his comments about how native 3D restricts the actual shooting of a film. If that wasn't the case I disagree with him that it's better visually. Though imo, DOTM proved you can switch back and forth pretty seamless without noticing what was shot in 3D if converted properly.

I agree with this.
I need to read more about this but IMO it's just a really small part of interview.
When they were in pre-prod on MoS they were looking at shooting an experimental way of filming a movie on film in 3-d.
It didn't seem to work out but i do think conversions are getting just as good as native movies.
It just takes time. Alot of time.
Cameron has spend close to 2 years converting Titanic from 2-D to 3-D and many of agreed that the 3-d was just as if not as good as native 3-d.

Agreed on Avatar & I haven't seen Hugo.

Every other time I've seen 3D it's made the experience worse if anything. On IMAX it makes it hard to appreciate that you're watching it on a massive screen (to me at least) for some reason as well. When I take the glasses off suddenly the picture looks a lot more impressive. If they implement Avatar style 3D on the big films I'll be all for it but until they get to that level I won't be interested.

I have only seene 2 films In 3-d since Avatar started the craze-The Avengers and The
Hobbit.

My feeling If they want to do them 3-d they should shoot them In 3-d.

It's still financially viable to shoot for the 3D ticket prices, so I say do it properly at least. As long as there's a 2D release I'm not bothered really.

I actually read somewhere that Mangold was in Montreal doing The Wolverine reshoots. So I think it's more than just one scene and that they are Mangold directed since it is his film and Bryan probably has 110% focus on DOFP.

Latino Review had tweeted this:

James Mangold & Hugh Jackman (on top of shooting DOFP) doing THE WOLVERINE reshoots up in Toronto. Possible post credit/stinger scene? RT

After credit scene in The Wolverine: Storm gets off the plane to greet Wolverine.

Storm: "Did you think you could just forget about us, Logan? The school. The kids. We need you back"
Logan: "I... needed some time to figure things out."
Storm: "Figure this out... (Xavier steps out from the shadows)."
Logan: "How? It's not possible..."
Xavier: "Seems we need your assistance again Logan."
Logan: "But you were..."
Xavier: "Dead? My body yes. My mind, not quite."
Logan: "Then you must be playing mind tricks on me again."
Xavier: "No tricks, Logan. You have spent too many years chasing the past. Far darker times lie ahead. We don't have time to explain."
Logan: "So the war continues."
Xavier: "Yes, but you won't fight it alone... (A murky figure approaches Logan from behind. Camera focuses on figure's face)"
Cyclops: "Jean did make a choice at Alkali Lake. It was us... (Logan/Cyclops embrace each other... roll credits)"

awww, how cute, Logan and Cyclops embracing each other :woot:

I liked the scene.... maybe Id keep the hug out, but I like the idea of Charles playing with Logan, looking as Storm or any other x-man.

Not before things really get steamy...

Storm: Um... guys?
Xavier: We're standing right here, you two...
*Storm glances at Xavier's wheelchair*
Xavier: I ****ing saw that, Ororo. :cmad:
Storm: Sorry, sir.
Xavier: Nevermind that, what are we going to do about these two?
Storm: With all their whining about Jean, who would've thought they had it in them?
Xavier: Well, Scott certainly has it in him now, doesn't he?
Storm: That calls for a high five. *puts her hand up in the air*
Xavier: *glaring at her* I could kill you with a single thought, you know that, right?

Agreed. I actually find 3D hella annoying.

I much prefer IMAX to 3D. Very few movies are actually worth seeing in 3D. But big-screen IMAX is fantastic.

I'd skip The Wolverine in 3D, but then again...

Hmmm I'm not really a fan of IMAX. I like that their theaters look really expensive and elegant but the screen is just too big for me and I feel like I'm in a stadium. But I would watch DOFP in IMAX if they are going to releaseit there, just for the experience of watching a X-Men movie in IMAX.
