Days of Future Past Bryan Singer Directing X-Men: Days of Future Past - Part 6

he looks a bit like Tom Cruise character on Oblivion. The whole set and look is very futuristic.

If that's Fassbender he's dressed like David 8 from Prometheus :woot:

Wonder if it's a cell of some sort.

Its definitely Michael Fassbender now that there's a report that Josh is playing Stryker.

Stryker is in this? That guy gets way too much screen time/credit in this series.

If the story needs a character in that type of role makes sense to use him instead of introducing another. Still, I look forward to them stop using him.

This will be the 3rd film to have William Stryker.
Its funny because other than God Loves Man Kills I and 2, I dont think he ever appeared in a x-men until the movies came out lol

I love Magneto (both) but Fox really needs to branch out in terms of villains.

yeah, that's our franchise.

:)

note: and more than Nightcrawler and Angel too.

I know. Pretty sure Stryker's had more screen time then Cyclops as well haha.

oh, you can easily count on that too! :funny:

I love it! a small character on the comics history having a bigger role than Cyclops, Gambit, Angel and Nightcrawler. awesome! :D

I think things are looking very strong for the franchise and they are on a good path to changing some of the issues with those characters (hopefully). But yeah, sick of Stryker in these films.

I feel the same about the future.

I honestly think we have NO IDEA of how epic the future will be. like..... seriously.

DOFP could be like a whole new beggining, but on the same universe.

Agreed. I'm looking forward to Fox's panel more then Marvel's this year and I never thought I would say that. So they definitely have my interest.

Is this realy how the fan base is?

A character gets focus in one film and it's an issue because they've ONLY been in that one film.

And then if a character gets focus in more than one film it's a problem because "I'm so sick of this character getting treatment!"

Make up your minds. You can't have it both ways.

oh yeah, Fox panel feels much more promising this year. Marvel could announce one new solo movie, but...

well, the idea of having around 12 actors of DOFP cast on there and the more than likely teaser trailer..... the panel will be awesome!

and if they talk about X-Force too and discuss a bit about their plans for the future, it will be perfect.

Personally I dont expect another announcement, appart from XForce, but I would bet that around Comic Con next year we will know about two new x-men movies :woot:

As always, time will tell

Depends on the character. Maybe some people just don't like Stryker and felt he served his purpose in the 2 films he was already in and need to move on. Not everyone will share the same opinion on a character. You've seen the complaints on Wolverine, Prof X and Magneto screen time. This franchise does have a tendency on focusing on the same characters, and not enough on other fan favs or villains. Depends what the viewer thinks of the character.

Like I said a fewposts back, if DOFP calls for that type of role then it makes perfect sense to use someone who is established. That's perefct for storytelling an world building. Doesn't change the fact that I don't really care for the character, and that I think he gets too much credit in the X-Men filmverse. I learned everything I needed to know about Stryker in X2 and XMOW, and have no interest seeing him developed more. This film will have to convince me otherwise.

I think X-froce will def be brought up since the Writer is there. Even without it they have a very strong panel. I am really hoping for some surprise announcements for future Marvel Fox films.

lets see what happens.

If they announce a second new movie, it will be more than welcome!

as long as they dont announce Wolverine 3, of course :funny: (they will do it, but no need to announce it this year)

One reason they probably added Stryker was to alter the timeline entirely and establish a new continuity, one where the events of X1-3 could not have happened. He is very integral in all of those movies, it's not far fetched to say he would work with Trask, so if something were to happen to him...

Let's be realistic, the current OT cast can't play these roles for the next 10 years, and there have already been some unforgivable things happen to the timeline that have caused fan uproar (Cyclops, and the ruining of one of the most celebrated events ever, the Dark Phoenix saga). Re-establishing a new timeline would be the only way to save it. They can't be constantly making period pieces set in the past to avoid those issues.

I agree, and I'm sure there is a role for him here and that he wasn't thrown in for the hell of it.

stryker may have been thrown in for a wolverine subplot

lets be honest it won't be forgotten about that he gave wolverine his claws

Wolverine is main character in this series. Stryker gave him adamantium, so he's one of main villains.
If Cyclops had more time, we would see Mr. Sinister and Apocalypse.

probably be some subplot where logan has a choice of killing stryker which will stop logan getting the adamantium and losing his memory

but if they keep giving Wolverine the biggest role, Cyclops wont have more time, either Sinister or Apocalypse.

Thats the point.

I agree, he's seen a great deal of hurt and knows the outcome of the future, he has the choice to change it. Perhaps we still might see future Wolverine die, just not int he same setting as the comic. He's the only one that has to avoid his past self, after-all!

do you mean stryker?
just getting a little confused.
