I don't remember the episode titles but I love the hell out of that Halloween episode where they took on the personalities of the costumes they were wearing.
"Restless" is in my top 5 list of favourite episodes. It's a different kind of season finale. "Fear Itself" is classic Buffy and an episode I show to people to introduce them to the show.
I liked Adam more than most people. It was a problem that he just did nothing for most of the season. But I loved the Scoobies' final confrontation with him. Buffy literally being powered by her friends is a great representation of the show.
Kvz5, yeah! That was a great episode.
Spike and Angel could totally still show up, either just make a joke of them looking older and move on or cgi their faces a little, it goes a long way. But David can still very much play Angel. This is him in 2014/2015
Angel in S5 when he was a little bit of a chunky butter ball
Even James doesn't look bad, put make up on him and dye his hair and he would de-age a bit
The title of that episode was...wait for it...."Halloween." t:
EDIT: James looks every bit his age, imo.
He looks good imo. I think his brown hair ages him more then when he was a plat.blonde.
But this cast like the to make up as many excuses as they can not to do a reunion, so I don't hold my breath at any movie or mini series. They act like they are all super busy that they can't sit down and hash out a time to film something.
Weren't they (I forget which movie Studio) looking to do a Buffy remake? Whatever happened to that?
I'm glad it didn't happen. Buffy without Joss, SMG, and the rest of the cast just wouldn't feel right to me.
Why is this thread bumpin and what's with people suggesting Angel and Spike to return!? Whaaat? Did I miss something?
I really want Joss to return to his roots and do a third show. Not only is Buffy without Joss terrible, it'd be just Buffy since thats all the studio owns the rights to. I still want Ripper the miniseries set in England on the BBC.
You didn't miss anything, other than SMG and Alyson Hannigan reuniting at a party. The thread just took off with the inevitable reunion talk whenever this kind of thing happens.
Oh ok. I don't see a problem with DB or JM revisiting Angel or Spike since vamps age somewhat (the Master) and Angel sure as hell got older looking in his flashbacks compared to early seasons so its all good..
But if Joss ever did a Fray tv show, vamp characters could show up looking older since its like set hundreds of years in the future .
My wife has been slowly watching through Buffy and Angel with me. Last night, we watched Guise Will Be Guise (Angel season two). That is easily one of my favorite episodes of either show.
I need to try and watch Angel again. The Buffy-verse without Buffy just doesn't appeal to me. I tried watching it a while ago but stopped after [BLACKOUT]Doyle died[/BLACKOUT]. Angel doesn't do enough for me to be a lead character and the supporting cast that I hear great things about hasn't been established yet. But every time I watch an episode I think "I could be watching Buffy right now."
Oh, God you're really missing out. I missed Doyle too but once Wesley comes in it only gets better. And season one ain't even close to being the best season. Season two the show comes into its own and at times surpasses Buffy in quality. Many times actually. Season 2 and 3 and 5 of Angel are better than seasons 4, 6, and 7 of Buffy.
I think season 2 of Angel is tops.
The way they brought back that blonde lady who will not be spoiled from the dead, great stuff.
Whedon is often discussed as a feminist writer which is almost a back-handed compliment, depending on who is saying it might mean he only knows how to write white women.
So it is great that Charles Gunn was fantastic.
But I didn't even like Doyle. I don't like the L.A setting and style either. And Angel is just sooo brooding and uncharismatic. I know I just need to suck it up and get into it. I'm sure I'll like it.
The LA setting allows the buffyverse to take place in a large setting. You can have a huge ecosystem of demons since LA is tens of millions of people.
Angel is eventually surrounded by a strong cast. You may never love Angel but you will love Lilah, Wesley, Gunn, and Fred.
I tried watching Buffy and I just can't do it. I somehow got through 3 seasons, but that season 4 episode with the Cher song almost broke me.
Angel seems like more my kinda show from watching the pilot and knowing a bit about the story. Should I watch it? Will I be lost on crossovers with Buffy?
For the crossovers all you need to know is that Faith is a slayer gone rogue, Widow becomes a great lesbian witch, and in the series finale all potential slayers become slayers.
Watch up to S2, at least, before deciding to give up on it completely. S2 really fleshes out Angel as a character, and you don't want to miss Faith's return.
I would definitely be up for a Fray show, has loads of potential and as you stated, you could easily have Angel and/ or Spike returning, the producers could even give them a look closer to the Master's with a whiter skin or other demonic elements starting to grow in their body like that guy who killed Fath's master.
Joss has also said that after the Avengers he didn't want to make another ensemble for a while, with Fray you pretty much have a lone-wold kind of character.
I would actually prefer an ancient slayer.
Fighting vampires in ancient Egypt, or Greece.
He did just fine with Zoe on Firefly.
Darla yeah probably the best parts of that show was the special guest stars like Darla, Dru, and Faith.
