Well this is certainly encouraging news, unexpected as well since we just had McDonald's do a promotion last year. I just found out about this by an ad on TV. Very unexpected and good to see they're still marketing the show like this.

I don't ever go to fast food restaurants, I only go to BK when they do their Spidey promotions and I usually only go for the toys.

well on the matter of greg like us he probably hasnt heard anything one way or another yet from marvel/disney. Though i agree this could be a sign that things are still in motion with marvel/disney for the show. But only time will tell.

no no no it not true persian the news came from the uk magazine/website ok which is pretty much just a tabloid news source. The article which i read/heard about was full of false information like the film was with universal pictures, and that toby walked form sm4 when that wasnt true he left when raimi was given the boot. Plus then it said venessa hudgens zac girlfriend was to be mj, and that zac was to get 10million dollars for the film. which i doubt that. Since its been stated by the studio they want ot make the movie on a cheaper budget around 80million dollars. i doubt they would want to waste 10mill on zac, they will probably go with some unknown/lesser know and they will probably get a couple hundred grand for the pick. Since marc webb the director is getting 10million for the picture. Plus i wouldnt believe any articles unless its officiall from marvel or sony pictures. Plus really film wise marvel/disney probably doenst have any bearing on what films do with spidey. Since sony still has film rights to do what ever.

HIGH School Musical heartthrob Zac Efron is set for a £9million pay day as he takes on the role of SpiderMan.

Zac Efron will replace Tobey Maguire in the fourth blockbuster movie, due to start shooting later this year and scheduled to hit cinemas in 2012.

Tobey, 34, stunned bosses at Universal Pictures last year when he announced he was quitting the megabucks franchise.

But a studio insider revealed: “After dumping Spidey, Tobey then came to the rescue by recommending that Zac should take over his role.”

Producers believe the 22-year-old, who has a huge teen following, will bring new fans to the Spider-Man series by playing the reluctant hero and his alter ego Peter Parker.

They are also believed to be considering reuniting Zac with his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens, 21.

She is hotly tipped to replace Kirsten Dunst, 27, as Spider-Man’s love interest and the source added: “It would be a great coup to land her as well.

“The franchise would be revitalised and transformed by two of Hollywood’s most gifted and fast-rising young stars.”

yea i dont personally care for him but i doubt it will be him. more likely its going to be an unknown since they want to do highschool peter and reports said more unknown likely to get the role. plus if production is to start in june or july i figure we will know by march probably.

Or they could team up against a villain, like in many team-up's. I mean, that's what happened in so many Hostess Marvel ads.

A fast food toy tie-in is good, especially for a show that is still in "limbo". It means other sponsors are interested in the franchise, and that there is fresh investment in it.

I mean, c'mon Marvel/Disney. It can't be MORE expensive to continue a show that is still on TV, and currently selling DVD's and toys, than it will be to start the whole shebang over again in 1-6 years. It simply can't.

Iron out the legal evils and let's get us Season 3!
