Closest thing to that would be the Medal of Honor.

I hope this guy gets arrested for car theft. Stopping a crime by committing one isn't right and shouldn't be applauded.

Lmao aren't you a sourpuss. That employee didnt commit a crime. He stopped one by thinking fast and doing what he could. Taking a getaway car out of play is hardly theft in any definition of the word.

What you are saying would be like charging a civilian with assault for defending themselves from an attacker.

I am glad that things turned out for the best and nobody was hurt, but the employees actions could have caused this thing to go very, very wrong. You do not try to be a hero when the bad guys have guns and you don't.

If it didn't make national headlines, yup.

You're the type of person who would probably say "I hope that person that shot that guy shooting up the mall gets arrested. Stopping mass murder by committing murder isn't right!":whatever::whatever::whatever:

Well I'm not saying it was advisable, but it doesn't warrant criminal charges.

Very true. If somebody came to rob my store all I'd do is ask if they wanted a bag.:o

What's worse is that there were multiple criminals with guns in a crowded, enclosed space. That silly employee put himself at risk, fine, but made that risky decision on behalf of all the innocent men, women and children in that restaurant. Who were not with him in that car, but instead left in that enclosed space with armed assailants who now lost their means of escape, and are now placed in a pressurized situation where they may feel forced to take hostages or make an armed stand against law enforcement.

Again, I am happy nobody was hurt and the bad guys were caught, but it was a really stupid thing to do.

Umm mate sadly that happens. If a customer gets physical in the uk in a store and the sales assistant fights back and wins the customer can have him/her done on grounds of assault.

Not In the US. In my state if you fear for your life at all (sometimes you have to prove the assailant presented a credible threat) you can use whatever means are available to neutralize the threat. It gets complicated on business property but if someone comes at me I can use whatever means are available to protect my life. If they turn their back or run and I continue to attack then it becomes criminal.

Criminals have sued before and won because they claimed it was disproportionate retribution.

    Is this real tea?

Stealing the getaway care isn't a crime when the getaway care in question was being used by a criminal.

NC. Its a castle state among other things. For instance, if someone sticks their head in your car window or an arm and tries to harm you or do anything criminal you can shoot them in the face or stab them and not be charged. We don't **** around in this state. Your essentially the acting law on your own property. If the cops show up you cede to them, but until they arrive you can do what's necessary to remove a threat.

Unnecessary violence and sadistic behavior can get you in trouble, and like I said, you can't stab or shoot someone who is fleeing, but yeah we have a lot of leeway in my state.

The thread title says stealing.... which is taking something with the intent on keeping it, which anyone should be arrested for. Now if they just moved a car that some robber idiots left running so they couldn't get away so fast, that is a different story.

Ah, NC. The only state where I had a child go into a house and pull a rifle on me.

I'm only glad it was a BB gun.
