Ok I don't know thing one about computers and softwear or any of that...

I have a bunch of movies I want to get off my computer. Some are mpg and some are mpeg format. I have a dvd+r drive and I'm positive some sort of burning program.

So now how do I get my movies onto discs and also how can I tell how many I can fit on one disc etc....

I'm fairly certain that it's illegal, I'm not sure though...

Shhh...I am sure they are home movies...

Hey, I've got no problem with downloaded movies, software and musically illegally. But I avoid anything that could lead to a lengthy stay in prison with a cellmate named "Hank". :o

So if your not going to offer helpful hints why even post?

Becuae assuming you downloaded those, we don't want to get into any kind of trouble helping you "cough".

LMAO yeah cuz the FBI is monitoring the SHH boards for the REAL movie pirates.

Wow. Sometimes you guys just amaze me.

Someone just PM him one of the many pieces of movie pirating software out here.

Kinda relating.

How do I convert AVI files to Mpeg format?
Then after this step my next step would be burning the movies.

Just search Google for "Video converter" or "AVI to MPEG".

I would say the best thing for K.B to do is to delete thses"movies" and go buy a legal copy of them.

It's legal to back up movies you own on dvd.

it's best to use this as the scenario. :cwink:

Starsky,

Seriously...if you have NOTHING to offer in the way of help on a TECH SUPPORT board then DON'T post.

Fine, if you want to get busted than that's YOUR problem. I am trying to help you. And I've been here way longer than you have so watch it.

First off, like I said before, the FBI is not going to come bursting through my door for my lousey 3 movies cuz I'm sure they have alot better things to do so get rid of that idea that hollywood has hammered into your head about "downloading is wrong".

If you were trying to help you would have saved the snarky comments and either said something to cover your butt incase the fed's try to connect you and me in some "vast movie piracey scheme" and then listed the answer to the question I asked or you could have PM'd me the info.

And second, don't ever threaten me or anyone else on here again. So what if you have "been here longer"? What does that have to do with anything? If anyone is going to look like the jerk it's you with the constant comments and then threatening someone after they write you a civil note about manners and conduct. Take a look at Kritish for example, he came on and said his piece in a non better-than-thou manner and later came back with a viable solution that someone could have picked up on.
Board manners in action.

First off, downloading, unless you paid for it, is ilegal. And no, I never said the FBI is looking on here. But do you really want someone to report you? While I won't deny that I've downloaded music before, you should know, I do not support any type of ilegal downloading AT ALL. I don't care who you are, I simply do not support it. If you don't like that, then too bad.

Second, I did not threaten you. Do not talk to me about "manners and conduct". And Kritish is a bad example, look at the comment I responded to. Not very mature, is it? Third, you are not a mod, so do not act like you have the power. If a mod wants to punish me because of my posts, then they can. I won't agrue them. But you will not talk to me like that.

I may seem like a "jerk" to you, but I am simply speaking the truth.

If you really want a burning program, try AoA DVD Creator. It's only a free trial and you'll only be able to use it 5 times, but it works.

Now, if you want to agrue these points some more, let's do it over PM's instead of spamming up this thread.

It's good to know that the moral police have arrived.

"Woops I heard that somebody was doing something illegal in here...my bad..."

^^Like K.B said, if you're not going to post something releated to this thread, do not post in here.
