A Pre-Air torrent has been out for a few days and I just finished watching the pilot.

Hank (David Duchovny) looks to be a promising character. He's a writer who isn't writing, due to problems with his ex-wife and daughter. So he seeks to drown those troubles in frequent casual sex.

It's on Showtime, so guys that means lots of swearing and unnessercary female nudity.

Worth watching.

That's August 13th for those who have Showtime and don't torrent.

Yes, very valid point.

I was talking about the nice kind where it's good looking woman with their boobies on display, but Kathy Bates definately comes under the category of unessercary nudity.

So you like the scene of Kathy Bates in About Schmidt?

good god man, do not speak of such things!!!

seriously though, this show does look someone promising. I havent seen the torrent yet, but the previews look interesting and I'm a big fan of Duchovny. Showtime has really been upping their game recently to keep up with HBO. That Tudors series is excellent.

Yup.

I intended to bump when I noticed it on the list at EZTV this morning, but forgot.

Good job you remembered.

So did anyone else end up watching this? I checked it out and I really thought it was pretty funny, hooked me in for a few more episodes for sure.

I thought it was fantastic. Though I have to admit, I wouldn't have liked it nearly as much if it starred anyone other than Duchovny.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Yeah I wouldn't have liked it nearly as much without him either, his delivery was just really spot on.

Now I didn't want to say this before the show aired, in case anyone started looking for it, but when I saw Hank step out of the car in the first episode I thought "He's got a Bill Hicks look going on." Perhaps he would be good for a Bill Hicks Biopic. But now I'm starting to feel Hank takes a heavy influence from Bill.

And as for the second episode itself, excellent. I think some people might find Hank's ease of promiscuosity with sexy young women, (who are pretty much throwing themselves at him) tiring like they have with Tommy Gavin's in Rescue Me. I personally don't have a problem with because I realise that there really are guys out there like that. And seeing as Hank is a bit of a celebrity with a bad boy edge, I find it even more likely they'd be into him for non-committed sexual encounters.

That scene in the bedroom was hilarious.

Second episode was great as well. The scene with the painting... priceless. This show is getting really good.

This show is hilarious. I really hope it stays around for a while.

This is one of the smartest shows to come out in a long time. This has quickly eclipsed "Weeds", which it shares a programming slot with, as one of my favorites on television.

I know. I've been addicted since the word go.

I was a bit thrown, because reviews I had read beforehand weren't necessarily glowing, but I've been hooked from the first episode. I think it's very well-written, and I love Duchovny in the role.

Yeah, first episode pretty much got me too. It's basically a guy's fantasy with a bit of tragedy thrown in. I certainly like it.

Just found out, it's already been renewed for a second season.

Wow. New eppy tonight. Looking forward to it.

Fantastic ending to episode 9. Really looking forward to the last few eps of the season.

Is Mia really gonna get away with stealing hank's book?
