The Dark Knight Cameos/old actors?

Alright, basically, this thread is to debate the subject of having old actors from previous Bat movies in this new universe.

People seemed to be divided over the subject. Many say that they don't want any ties to the old movies out of principal, but some think it wouldn't be so bad.

I personaly wouldn't mind if they casted an old actor in different role, depending on the actor. In the Harvey Dent thread, there was a suggestion that Keaton might not be bad as Two Face, and I agree with that, I don't think he would be that bad.

Some don't want any actors from the old movies, so my next question would be, how about cameos? I would think it was pretty cool if they did something like, have Jack Nicholson cameo for maybe two minutes and be the first person the Joker kills, or have Keaton cameo quickly in some way shape or form and make a comment about Batman.

What do you guys think?

Keaton isnt a good choice as Dent anyway.
He wasnt handsome enough to be Batman and he surely isnt handsome enough to be Dent.

Agreed. If there are to me any cameos at all. For the most part, I'm against cameos.

As much as I want to say yes, bring back Nicholson & Keaton for cameos, I'm going to have to say "no" to that idea. It would be cool for nostalgic purproses I guess, but thats about it. Not really enough to warrant going ahead with something like that I'm afraid.

I'd love to see Keaton in one of the sequels, not in a cameo per se, but in an actual role. Not necessarily as one of the major players, but in a small but significant role, like Rutger Hauer as Earle. And this isn't just because he was Batman once upon a time, he's just one of my favorite actors.

I doubt he could fit into his schedule. I think he's a little busy being the governor of California. But maybe he could. Was Jesse the Body still governor of Minnesota when he did his cameo in B&R?

I do not think so - but Fred Thompson (Law and Order) severed in the U.S. Senate and his role on Law and Order until the end of his term.

That being said - Arnold does not need a cameo.

yes...as well as in Memento and Insomnia. Kind of a running gag in Nolans Films until now (think he isnt in the prestige).
