I posted this earlier in another thread and some have agreed with me, I would like to see the general consensus around here.

Does anybody else think the new Nancy story might be wack? I mean the last movie was excellent and I thought Alba was in it enough. She was good in the "supporting" role for Hartigan's story... but I am kind of worried about her doing the lead in her own story. Jessica Alba is good as what she does, but with the dark, explicit nature of Sin City, I don't think she could pull it off. I feel that she only has enough acting chops for a supporting "good girl" styled role like she has already done.

This thread is not for bashing Alba, because i'm not -- and I don't want to offend JAL. :p

Yes...have alittle faith Karea...:)

I've never really seen her in a dark and gritty role, which is exactly what her role should be if she has a lead in one of the stories... so hopefully she'll surprise me. :)

Tune into the Sci Fi channel and watch a few of the Dark Angel series....a good one to watch would be towards the end of the first and second season...

Oh yeah, I remember Dark Angel now. She was good in that and kicked some butt, too.

I think she may be able to pull it off now. Thanks JMAfan. :)

Frank Miller Talks Sin City 2

Exclusive: Writer/Director on sequel 23 December 2005

http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=17745

We talked to Frank Miller recently and he told us a little about the development of Sin City 2, due out August 18 next year. Here's what he had to say:

"I'm finishing the script right now for Sin City 2 – I can't wait to get back behind the camera.

If I have my way, there's going to be five [films] – but that's if I have my way! Five would take care of all the graphic novels – but there's new material that I'm writing for the second one.

There'll probably also be a separate graphic novel that I'll do. It's a Nancy Callahan story that I've been wanting to do."

Jessica Alba is not a good actress. Apparently, she's the butt of a lot of jokes in the acting comunity in Hollywood.
But she is hot...

Wow, you're part of the "in crowd" in Hollywood? You're cool...

Yeah, I guess thats why she has what? 7 movies coming out over the next year or so...

This is why I want a strong partnership story within, like Marv and Dwight within A Dame to Kill For, but with the partner taking a more active role to make up for Alba.

I think she'll do a wonderful job!

I can't wait to see her new story.

shes hot. she can dow ahtever she wants. its a rule

lol@ you getting irked by his comment.

Face it she's the chosen postergirl for hot so of course she's gonna be in films for box office success but her acting is a bit underdeveloped at this point.
But I've seen tons of ****ty actors or so called ****ty actors have at least one good potrayl or role so we'll see

no not irked at all....you have me confused with another fan.....

Look, I know where you stand, so theres really no need to quote me on anything.....I don't plan on getting into a debate over any of this with you. You need to head back to your other Jess fan and play with him.:)

I think she could. I want some Sin City 2 news too dammit! Was there nothing about it at comic con? :marv::yellow:

Yes, some news would be nice.

I thought she was very weak in Sin City. By far the worst character in the movie. She just sounded and looked really out of place where else everyone played their parts perfectly. For example, the bit where Marv, carring Wendy, walks into Nancys flat and Nancy says 'Sure Marv, Who's the babe?'. Makes me cringe everytime!

So Robert said that filming is going to start in about six months (five months now) right? And didn't Frank Miller say that the script was done at Comic-Con? I have so many questions!

Why would they need a script? The whole point of the first Sin City was literally using the graphic novels as scripts.

I thought the whole point of this franchise was that it was innovative because it didnt use a new script to alter the stories rather they just lifted it quote by quote from the books? but oh well I guess it does or something
