2009 has the potential to turn out to be a sour one if Captain America or _anything_ doesn't join Thor. I prefer Captain America, but if it's not possible then have something else above the quality of Ghost Rider.

Are you content if all we get in 2009 is Thor?

If Thor is the epic that it should be, then I would be content with just Thor. It will make that film even that much more grand.

Well, if they ever actually get the ball rolling, the Magneto spin-off may be released in 2009... and I know everyone is excited about the Magneto spin-off, right?... RIGHT???

^ Nothing official's been announced yet. Filming is supposed to begin later this fall once Jackman is finished with Australia. Fox is supposedly fast tracking Wolverine for a potential summer '08 release.

The other Marvel Studios project in development are:
Ant-Man - Writer and director engaged
Captain America - Writer engaged
Nick Furyl - Writer engaged
Luke Cage?

I'd like to see a Namor The Submarnier movie...The water effects would be great.

It's going to be one of those two films. Marvel is committed to two films per year and we'll DEFINATELY see another Marvel Studios made film to accompany Thor in 2009. They announced the "two per year" rule to company shareholders long ago. My bet would be Cap. Worldwide box office concerns (America bashing) will lessen after 2008 and the sooner we see Cap, the sooner they can incorporate an Avengers film in to the mix.

As was mentioned before, Marvel Studios is obligated to release two films per year, so they will release another film alongside Thor in 2009 (either Ant-Man or Captain America, IMO).

In addition to that, other studios can release as many Marvel-based films as they want. Fox is planning on releasing Magneto in 2009 and I imagine The Silver Surfer will be released in that year as well.

I think they go with a smaller gun... probably Black Panther or Cage... and then Captain America in 2010... along with Ant-Man or Cage/Panther...

man...sorry to break the ice, but I think 2009 will suck.
honestly, I think we can only count with Thor. maybe Cap.
but........if they make a Thor, Cap and Magneto movie for 2009, then it might turn out good, since we probably will have Superman from DC, too.

Fox said they are fast tracking the SS spinoff as well for 09... so I am thinking they can push Magneto to a Holiday 09 release... it really won't be a terrible year for comic books though... keep in mind WB may have MOS and a JLA movie in that slot as well.. I don't think Marvel is comfortable pitting lesser heroes against that. It would be a real downer if C.A is shelved... he needs to have his own movie before Avengers though... preferably in 09 but hopefully in 2010... not really a huge follower of Cage/Panther... Ant-Man and C.A are musts however...

Only Thor and Cap are perfect. It's God send. 2 huge movies with sufficient budgets and supervision from Marvel. Thor & Magneto are not good enough to me. Thor & Cap & Magneto is just the same as Thor & Cap since Magneto is just some dessert that's not necessary for me.

The one big problem with a Cap movie, is that Even tho he's had fans all over the world, the Theaters wouldn't draw enough people all over the world.

I would absolutly go bonkers to see a Spielburg directed Cap film! I heard awhile ago he was interested in doing a Cap film, and hope he would make one.

Even if he's not a big draw, he'll be bigger than unknown like Ant Man or Namor. One thing is because Cap is one of Marvel's bigger properties, Marvel will treat it better and more seriously than the likes of Ghost Rider or in the future, Deadpool/Iron Fist/Luke Cage.

Cap is certainly a character that must have big screen showing. Most characters on the other hand don't deserve any movies.

I SO want to see a Namor movie, and I've got to say, I'm pretty stoked for Ant Man, too. 'Course, I'm probably not representative of the average moviegoer, particularly the average 18 year old female moviegoer.:ninja:

Well, with the popularity of the Potter movies and the surprise hit that Marvel and Lion's gate's Dr Strange movie turned out to be, I'm all for a serious take on a Dr Strange movie. It has so much potential as a serious drama and of course as a special effects and spooky extravaganza.

^Not to mention that it would, as a matter of course, kinda lay more of the ground work for a possible Defenders movie.:cwink:
