Can you buy Graphic novels/TPB's of Amazing Spider-man?

If so, what is the name of the first one and which comics are in it?

Depends on if you mean the trades starting from the veeery beginning or the beginning of JMS run. The trades from the beginning are called either The Essentials, which prints about 20 of them in black & white, or Marvel Masterworks, which prints about 10 in color. The first volume of JMS run that they printed in trade is called Coming Home. Hope that helped.

If you're looking to collect JMS' run on Amazing you can also get The Best of Spider-Man, I think they're through volume 5 now. Basically it's an entire year's worth of ASM. The first few include some other series' story arcs but I think after a while they're just ASM. Amazon Marketplace usually has them for what you'd pay for a regular TPB so those are a pretty good deal.

If you're willing to do some Internet Detective Work, you can also find out about earlier trades that have been out of print for the last 15 years, such as
The Origin of the Hobgoblin - my favorite
The Saga of the Alien Costume
Nothing can stop the Juggernaut (yes, it's a Spider-man trade, not X-Men)
I think they did a couple on the Sinister Six stories from the 1990s, but I'm not sure.
Hobgoblin Lives
Spider-man/Human Torch (LOVED the Spider-mobile issue, particuarly the ending, and how they beat the villians of the story).
