Yes, Kamehameha the Great and the (I believe) seven Kamehamehas after him with the final being a female, Lilioukalani Kamehameha [My Hawaiian history is a bit rusty].

In Japanese context, Kame actually means Turtle, where as the entire phrase together means "Turtle Wave" or something to that effect.

i think kammy hammy ha is how it's pronounced in the original anime

the second and fourth syllables sound like 'me' and not 'may'

but i prefer the 'may' sound personally.
