do you think that you can love two people?

have any of you ever loved two people and not in a sexual way. just looked at them and said i would do anything for them. or do you just have to let one go, kind of a having your cake and eating it kind of thing.

I love my mama. I love my friends. I love anyone whose heart can comprehend.

a question you have to ask is everyone is capable of falling in love

You've disqualified sexual love, but what exactly are you talking about? Romantic love? Familial love? The love of friendship? You can easily love more than one person in the latter two, but the first is difficult to do (as in, you can fall in romantic love with more than one person, but managing it so you're happy with it is difficult) as humans are primarily a monogamous species.

People are, in general, selfish creatures. It is wired into most of of us. The list of men (and woman) who have been madly in love with the perfect person, only to cheat on them with someone else is never-ending. It's because our wiring tells us that we deserve everything, not just one perfect thing. So...in this sort of bizarre and stupid mindset, yeah...I think someone could "love" two people...as long as both of them were fulfilling some psychological need in the person.

Don't know about that one...

Loving someone and being in love with someone is two different things. I'm in love with my wife. I love my kids, family and friends. I've never been in love with anyone besides my wife so I'm not sure if that's possible, for me anyway.

My mom was in love with my dad a long time ago then they divorced. She's in love with her current husband. So that's two but not at the same time. It just gets to complicated if you think about it to long.

It's possible, of course. Basic biology will tell you that. There is no one perfect person for us all. But I don't think it's the sign of a healthy relationship. I always thought one of the signs you know you're in love is you stop noticing other people.

I think most of you should concentrate on finding one person to love first.

well.... i love my close friends just like that. I would easily, and not think twice at laying my life on the line for them.

I see someone has been watching Twilight. (Bella is a ****e! :argh:) But seriously, no you can't because someone will suffer in the relationship. The real question is, are you going to stay with the one who loves you or are you going back to the one you love.

All you 80's music lovers will get that last sentence. ;)

I always love the one I'm with... though I'm not necessarily with the one I love. Get it? No? Let's not try.

This. The sooner people realize this completely inescapable fact, relationships would be a whole lot healthier and emotions are better kept in check.

Love is just like any other emotion, it'll hit you whenever it pleases. It's not something you can control. It's absolutely possible for you to love, or be in love, with multiple people.

Go eat several kilos of chocolate... you'll love something.
