What do you want spandex?

BTW the Val Kilmer suit san's nipples is just the like the 1989 costume.

I think 89 batman had the spookiest face.

Similiar but Darker and sleeker; with a different utility belt and gauntlets.

Overall, a better made suit than '89.

I still say his new suit is the best one. LOTS of flexibilty for combat, able to turn his head, it's light weight and has plenty of protection without being full body armor. (since the plates are seperated it's not fully protective)

Completely agree. i loved the way the neck and the cowl looked. As I said, the only thing that bugs be is the 'squashed nose'.

My personal choice wouldve been to make it a bit well.....'pointier' in keeping with the comics.

I mean - even B&R got that right:-

The Begins and Dark Knight suits had serious flaws and some good points. Both suits had poorly rendered chest symbols, too small mouth openings and odd ear angles. The new suit has an even smaller mouth opening which only emphasizes the big-bobble head look. It also makes the nose look really odd and huge/beak-like in certain lighting. As for the rest of the suit, I prefer a muscularized over an industrialized look. The Begins suit had a weak, but better,cape-hang than the TDK suit. Overall, the TDK suit
has a less classic look than any previous suit. Nolan has a different aesthetic sense for how the Batman should look and he's done some good/bad and interesting things with it. I would love to see a return to the more classic look we got in Batman '89, Batman Returns and Forever. My favorite suits rank thusly,

1. Panther suit: Batman Forever
2. Batman '89
3. Batman Returns
4. Batman Begins
5. Sonar suit: Batman Forever
6. TDK
7. Batman and Robin suit (first act)
8. Dead End

I loved the Dead End suit. I'd say that I liked BB, TDK, Dead End, and then B89.

I like the suits that seem to have a reason and rhyme to them that I can easily pick up. Many of the other suits seemed to have glaring flaws in design.

The panther suit is terrible. It's a mess of over-the-top, ridiculous, unnatural, ugly musculature, it's too shiny, and it doesn't look even remotely like actual equipment. It looks like something you'd see in "Batman on Ice," not at all like something Batman would actually wear.

The B89 suit had similar silly musculature, but it was mostly saved by the fact that it's texture was evocative of something organic, something suggestive of a creature. The way it was lit helped, also. The shiny, overly perfect nature of the panther suit, however, makes it look like a ridiculous, glossy Batman statue. Crap.

No more ridiculous, over-the-top sculpted muscles ever again, please. The Spider-Man route is fine, but none of the B89/Panther stuff. Blech.

Agreed. It just looks like a costume, plain and simple. Nothing practical at all. In fact, it's probably why fans are able to construct replicas that are just as good looking. The B89 suit at least had some texture on the chest piece and more accurate anatomy.

For the record, I have yet to see a suit on film which looks like actual equipment.

The TDK cowl nearly ruined the Batman character for me in that film. It just felt way too much like a bobblehead for me. The squashed nose definitely didn't help, either. I cherish that (rushed) scene in the beginning with the Bat-wannabes and Scarecrow, 'cos I just find that Begins suit (especially the neck) to just be bad-assed.

Oh well.

no i don't want spandex, i'm just saying its not like the comics at all, i think the BB one is the closest to the comics

You know, reading over the earlier pages in this thread, does anybody else find it kind of ludicrous that people were often saying how ridiculous skintight material would look when, in "Begins," Batman was wearing almost entirely skintight material from the waist down?

i think the new suit could of just been covered up buy some other material, bats is still wearing it underneath like body armour but with something over it it could of looked more organic

Only problems with the new suit are:
1) The decrease in the size of the Bat emblem compared to 'begins' along with the strange addition of that black band across the chest that detracts from the emblem even further.
2) The issue with the cape being hung only from the neck rather than being more cloak-ish across the shoulders.
3) And possibly the mask but I can't put my finger on it. It might be its size relative to his body - very form fitting suit that doesnt add too much bulk to his figure, but topped with a helmet that is significantly more bulbous than his head. I think this is what makes me think the jaz area is weird - the overall size and shape of the helmet/mask makes the jaw look more rounded and Bale's chin smaller.

Yep. Because that's the only other option they had.

"What are we gonna go with guys? Old timey spandex like you'd see at a comic convention, or foam rubber? There's no other choice." :whatever:

Yep it was the only alternative, we all know that jeesh lol

I loved the new Batsuit, but I was annoyed that it didn't have nipples.[/sarcasm]

This right here proves that the cape could drape over his front side, to give the more silhouetted look!

That's not really draping over his front side much. The points at which the cape is attached prevent it from doing so.

I thought it drape over his shoulders at the end.

Pics prove that out of all the suits, this is definitely the one to go with if you're crazy enough to decide to fight crime.

The difference being that the Begins suit was thick, which apparently makes a skin-tight material OK to everyone: "It might be skin-tight, but it's thick and looks like armor." That could be easily accomplished with a muscle-suit and cloth over it.

There isn't really a reason to change this suit for batman I would think. I mean they came up with a pretty good reason for the last suit to go, functionality, and in terms of function this one's perfect. Protection and agility.

Bruce: Lucius, I need a new suit.

Lucius: Agility, Mr. Wayne?

Bruce: No, to shut some fanboys up who only know how to nitpick. Also, slant my white lenses down, so I can look like my cartoon counterpart.

Lucius: ... Okay? Anything else?

Bruce: Make sure it's spandex, and that my crotch and nipples are fully visible.
