Okay so if you haven't seen the movie, SPOILERS ABOUND! GO AWAY!

If you have seen the movie, you are aware Cap went on a magical journey to fix all the wrongs in the universe (very reminiscent of the scene from Deadpool 2 if you ask me). He leaves with Mjolnir and a suitcase and shows up on a park bench less than a couple minutes later, roughly 50-90 years older with a new shield. So what did he do? How did he do it? And what was in that suitcase?

Lets start with the suitcase. Pretty large, specifically fairly long. My theory on the contents:
- shrunken milano (or other spacecraft) and a blue disc to grow it with
- Reality Stone contained within Rocket's infinity stone-caliber syringe
- Space Stone in replica glass tesseract enclosure
- Mind Stone in replica scepter (which is why the case was so long)
- Power Stone in replica orb
- time stone
- soul stone
- 7 vials of pym particles (one for each quantum leap, two to replace in pym's office, one to get "home")
- All the appropriate clothing/costumes he would need.
- probably some binoculars

Also Cap's quantum GPS contains the recorded data of where and when the avengers arrive in each individual location.

Leap #1:
Cap arrives in 2014 in the field that would become the Avenger's upstate facility. Wasting no time, he grows the spacecraft and leaves the atmosphere. He jumps from Terra to Morag just 2 hours before Nebula and War Machine arrive. He watches them as they wait for Quill, knock him out, take the orb, and War Machine departs. He looks on as Nebula is remotely stunned and Korath arrives to bring her lifeless form to Thanos.

He replaces the Orb and stows away upon Korath's ship (perhaps in disguise as a Ninja Turtle Sakaaran), watching as the events unfold. He sees Nebula retrieve the pym particles from her future self and watches Ebony Maw recreate them to bring the entirety of Thanos' army to 2024. He also watches the entire army rematerialize moments later, confirming that Tony was the merciful hero he knew him to be. All except Gamora. "Hmm," Cap thought to himself, "Tony must have specified only followers of Thanos be returned to their own time."

Cap then travels to Vormir, where Black Widow and Hawkeye begin to argue. He watches on from afar saying a quiet goodbye to his friend. As Hawkeye disappears, he approaches the Red Skull, whose ethereal presence seems to become enraged at the sight of him, and then slowly becomes calm again as Cap outstretches his hand with the small orange stone. The skull speaks, "You would return this to me?"

"I'm only trying to right the wrongs of our past," Cap replies. "Expect another to come for it in 5 years." The two shake hands and Cap departs for his next mission.

Leap #2:
Cap arrives in 2013 on Asgard. He sneaks into Jane Foster's chamber just as Rocket leaves it and re-imbues her with the infinity stone. Realizing the gravity of what he'd just done, he took a step back. This innocent woman didn't deserve this. His confidence in his own actions fades and feels the hammer in his hand grow heavy. Far too heavy to hold, it drops to the ground as Odin bursts into the room.

"Loki?! Is that you?!"

"Sir, I apologize. I know your son. I am an earthling from the future. I was sent here to avoid a coming catastrophe. I don't want any trouble. Here's your hammer back."

"Guards! Seize this imposter at once!"

Leap #3:
Cap arrives in NYC once more in the year 2012. His first stop is the lobby of the Avengers Tower. He socks Loki on the jaw as he tries to escape, and hands the scepter to Alexander Pierce. He then makes his way to the sanctum sanctorum. Minutes after Bruce leaves, he knocks on the door. She answers it, already expecting him.

He hands her the time stone and she immediately replaces it within the Eye of Agamotto. She readies to close the door in his face but he stops her.

"Ma'am."

"Yes?" she asks inquisitively.

"I need to know what problems the world would expect if I didn't return to my time."

"And which time is your time?" she asked with a smirk.

He thought about this for a moment and replied, "I want to return to 1945."

"You always did." she said, and shut the door.

Leap #4:
Cap arrives once more at Camp Lehigh. He replaces two vials of particles in Dr. Pym's lab and the Tesseract in the vault Tony found it in. He gives it a final moment of thought before committing to his final quantum leap.

Leap #5:
Cap arrives in 1945 on a Saturday and makes his way to the Stork Club at 8 o'clock on the dot.

Steve and Peggy marry at some point before 1953. He lives mostly in hiding under a pseudonym only resurfacing for severe emergencies.

At some point Cap visits Wakanda and King T'Chaka assists him in creating a new Vibranium shield.

some cool theory's/fan-fi writing here, I like it
I can see you part a lot of thought in to this, so thank you for sharing

I really do hope we see his time journey in some form or another, rather it be in a tie in comic, animated mini shorts, even a movie tie in story book would be cool

I have no issue with most of that but... No. Tony wasn't merciful to Thanos and his army. Those ****ers are dead and there is no reason to think that they aren't.

Yeah, given a couple more viewings and processing what happened, I tend to agree Thanos is probably dead as dust. I would probably rework that in a final draft. Mostly I was attempting to fix every timeline. Something I acknowledge doesnt NEED to happen.

But I just hope they do give us a taste of what happened. A one shot or extended sequence of these events on Blu Ray would be AMAZING

I love the idea of Thanos and his army of baddies being time displaced back to 2014 rather than killed. Maybe Tony wished them gone and the gems put them back where they belonged? It would sharply cut down on the anomalies with only Gamora missing from the Power Stone time line.

Honestly, I don't see the need to necessarily "fix" every timeline. The goal is to keep from screwing over any timeline, but not every change is a "screw over". Creating a timeline where Thanos simply vanishes along with the core of his army, or a timeline where Steve Rogers prevents the reemergence of Hydra way back in the 1940s? Is an unmitigated positive. Its fundamentally different than "Hey, we're gonna steal one of the cosmic macguffins your universe needs, and then not return it".

actually come to think of it, in Infinity Wars Thanos talked to Tony as if he knew him, like they meet before (at the time we were just meant to assume he's been watching and keeping dabs on the team, since the events of NY...) but what if this was hitting at Thanos having memories of these events?

I thought he'd researched Stark after IM threw a nuke at him in Avengers...
