So he does have guns! Just like I thought.
Note that he has no wings here.
I think this is probably a separate outfit from his Falcon suit...which I would hope is a lot sleeker considering he's, you know, FLYING.
EDIT: Though, looking at that concept art again...this does appear to be the same outfit, just sans the CGI wings that will obviously be added later. I can sort of understand the "pilot" look with the straps and pockets and stuff...but I really wish it was sleeker...
Nah, I think it's just that the wings are CG
The wings will probably be CGI. He's surrounded by green screen so I'm assuming he's supposed to be flying.
Guess the wings are going to be CGI.
I get the whole realism thing, but I prefer the red and white outfit from the comics.
This just looks uninspired.
Note that he is on wires here.
As people have already said, the wings will probably be added in CGI later. As for his outfit, I would think you'd want all that padding, those shoulder straps that resemble a harness, and those goggles if you were flying. You're right that it's not very aerodynamic, but I think the wings are supposed to take care of that. (It's not like hang gliders require you to dress up in spandex.) He has already confirmed that the costume does not have a conventional superhero look.
Well, as expected, they've definitely taken inspiration from Ultimate Falcon as far as appearances go.
Just hope they keep Redwing in there somehow...
I thought the wires would have been a dead giveaway.....
Looks alright to me. I don't need everyone to wear tights.
I don't know about you, but I've seen numerous behind-the-scenes clips from various movies with people suspended by wires for a myriad of different reasons and special effects shots...not just flying.
but he's not thor, and he's not spider-man...and I see no explosion...and he's the falcon...so it's a pretty safe assumption no?
I don't think he's ever going to appear with practical wings, do you? It seems pretty clear that he's supposed to be flying there, especially since some of the shots have him leaning back.
Seems these images fit the scene described vaguely in a tweet yesterday.
SHIELD agents wear the american flag? or is he working for the government?
Doesn't look like anyone is going to be wearing the tights in this movie . Going to be all gritty combat wear .
Was noticing the American flag on his leg. Not typical of SHIELD personnel in TA so it looks like they're giving him The Falcon's Ultimate backstory of being a US military member. Little disappointed in the jacket they have him wearing as I though it'd be a little more streamlined, not bulky like it looks in the photos. Plus, I was hoping for maybe a little color accents to break up the all-black tactical look.
He is a part of SHIELD and thus will look military. Should be expected.
Or you know, instead of going from one extreme to the other, they could have found a balance between the two. They managed to do this with Captain America in the first film.
The Falcon...not so much.
Is any of it black?
Cap's look is built around his symbolism. That is how they get around it looking out of place.
I did notice that. The camo pants could be SHIELD gear, but the flag points otherwise.
Perhaps the military are creating their own superheros in the wake of the Avengers, beginning with Patriot and continuing with Falcon?
That could change everything... what if Falcon is not Steve's partner but his government competitor?
You know, at the end of the movie they fight alongside and he joins SHIELD...
Iron Man connection aside, I would think Iron Patriot would be Steve's government competitor (I haven't seen IM3 yet). You know, stars and stripes and all. It's an interesting thought (Falcon being Cap's rival at first), for sure.
They could have dressed him in a pink tutu. Instead they apparently felt military gear was most appropriate. Maybe he'll have the red and white further down the line. I don't know. I think the look is fine, sorry if that upsets you.
If there's one thing we can be sure about, it's that Disney won't shy away from the chance to make/sell NEW TOY$.
