Captain America: The Winter Soldier is currently at 100% at Rotten Tomatoes.

What will be the final RT score?

Only reason I don't think it will get into the 90s is because I see some reviewers bashing it for the big spectacle pieces at the end as juxtaposed to the first 3 quarters of the film...although I will just say ahead of time that criticism is going to be BS and they're just unilaterally hating on special effects. The action set piece in itself is a great climax and doesn't feel jarring or forced like the Wolverine's and Man of Steel's.

My early prediction was 83%. Moving that up to 86% after the great buzz. Early prediction for IM3 was 77% it got a 78%. For Thor 2 I predicted 74%, it got 65%.

I think it'll be high 70s to low 80s since I just know some critics will bash it for being another superhero movie or not enough like TDK, especially for some reason, American critics.

80 to 89. Im thinking critics are going to give this movie its just due.

I give it 85-89, but I'd rather see it in the 90's. I might look at some of the 90% movies just to see what those critics like.

I don't see it going below 84 to be honest though. If it does I'll be angry.

My dream: it stays right where it is, at 100% positive ;)

Realistically, I'm going a little more bullish than before and settle on around 81%-86% RT score final.

Can anyone tell me whether Variety or THR or The Wrap were positive on IM3 or Thor:TDW???

I usually choose a level, then downgrade it by one because realism. This time I'm going all the way. 90-100%, 93% specifically

DAMMIT ROBBIE COLLINS OF THE TELEGRAPH!!

He gave it 3 of 5 stars and it's rotten. Down to 91%. Oh well… whatever LOL!

Hmph. From what I gather he didn't think the filmed lived up to its premise and that one of the action sequences wasn't fit.

Wow, 100% eh. Not looking too bad. I'm guessing 75-85% when everything is all set and done though.

*sigh*

There always has to be a party pooper…

I think TWS will end up 90% fresh on RT.

The funniest thing to me is that we kvetch hardcore about our comic book movies dropping below 80% on the Rotten Tomatometer. Like if it scores 70+%, but not 80% or 90%, the movie has somehow failed us. Even if the reviews are mostly positive. Even if it's a massive crowdpleaser.

Basically, Marvel Studios and Nolan's Bat movies and the X-Men movies and Spider-Man have spoiled us rotten… in a good way. Other action franchises/big budget SFX spectacles… hell, even rom coms or comedies would be thrilled to match almost all of Marvel's RT scores, even Marvel's worst reviewed movie (TDW). Divergent, I'm sure, would love to see a higher RT score than it's getting. Same with Need for Speed and Pompeii.

I think there's quite a few of us that don't consider anything between 65%-79% the ideal. I do it too. I just think it's a funny way how comic book movies and their quality has increased so much over the past decade that, even if most of the reviews are positive, we'll still worry if that RT meter dips below a certain number.
