This is a modernism Captain America fan-fic about an American CIA agent who discovers he’s becoming more and more like the iconic Marvel Comics super-patriot! It’s inspired by the TV series, The Greatest American Hero (William Katt).

Enjoy!

Ajay Satan graduated from Dartmouth College in 2000 and began his post-graduate travels/studies in Canada, New England, and Thailand. He wanted to analyze the psycho-sociological processes that governed modern consumerism-consciousness and how they informed humanity’s understanding/appreciation of networking-oriented intelligence and imagination (e.g., NASDAQ, Wikipedia, Amazon, European Union, World Bank, etc.). Ajay was a big fan of comic books and read Captain America comics voraciously and began posting fan-fics on the Internet about the iconic American patriot/superhero dealing with 21st Century problems (including terrorism and corruption!).

Ajay was the quintessential modern idealist. He studied Cognitive Psychology at Dartmouth and did some exchange-study work at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in California where he was involved in a lab investigating the rates of neurochemical degradation in patients suffering from stagnating conditions such as Alzheimer’s and schizophrenia (when the mind feels like it’s losing control!). Ajay’s lab was evaluating how societal/media stimuli contributed to scientists’ understanding of how the collective human mind/brain(!) is molded by changes in information in developed civilizations (e.g., consumerism America!). Ajay learned to appreciate how the human mind is ‘shaped’ by the social processes of info/stimuli overload (e.g., Facebook-obsession).

Ajay realized that all the mass of information and stimuli flooding through the media giving rise to a 21st Century consumerism/traffic imagination affected the way human civilization conceived of networking and customs (e.g., WikiLeaks). Ajay found himself recruited suddenly by the CIA for a special mission to determined nuances in media couture in Middle Eastern nations either allied to or against the United States (e.g., Saudi Arabia, Syria). Ajay was given the field-alias ‘Captain America’ (as a joke, since his CIA superiors liked to poke fun at Ajay’s seeming fascination with Captain America comics and his huge comic book collection!).

As Captain America, Ajay Satan found himself dissecting street-customs and inner-political machinations of both government and terrorist groups in the Middle East. Ajay (‘Captain America’) even had to infiltrate the fundamentalist-Muslim terrorist group ISIS and determine if there were intentions to hack into American computing/media networks and subvert basic communications in the emerged commercial goods-and-info superhighway (e.g., Amazon, Bloomberg). Captain America returned to the USA with a detailed report about the implications of modern era intelligence coordination in the emerged ‘sea’ of traffic and communication (e.g., WikiLeaks!). Captain America (Ajay) was ready to embrace this modern world geopolitical ‘intrigue’ as a patriot…and a philosopher(!).

Captain America (Ajay) wanted to apply his understanding of modern globalization grids/networks in the defense of democratic rhetoric and patriotism which could assist America in fending off the fiery flames of anti-capitalism terrorism (e.g., 9/11). Captain America learned through his continuing association with the CIA (and NSA!) that the Trump Administration had formed a covert team of special paramilitary democracy-defenders in the Middle East known as ‘G.I. Joes.’ While the underground war between the super-terrorist group ISIS and the G.I. Joes ensued, Captain America (Ajay) was blogging on the Internet about what everyday American citizens/patriots could do to champion consumerism intelligence and customs(!).

“It is my understanding that the modern grid/network intricacies and ergonomics give rise to a sea of communications/commerce-oriented ‘customs flights’ and strange rebellion/terrorism ‘contract deformities’ (e.g., 9/11). This dualism between globalization channelling and traffic leviathans creates a special view on the reality of geopolitical complexity in this age of great expectations(!). People around the world are either dealing with the presence of a ‘cynicism scorpion’ or an ‘avarice crab’ in their evaluations of modern diplomacy(!). This is my understanding…” (Ajay Diary Entry 23).

Captain America (Ajay) knew that modernism was really about the analysis/dissection of bio-intel and psycho-imaginariums(!). He wondered if terrorist groups such as ISIS and Cobra were developing biochemical weapons designed to infect the human mind/brain and create mass hysteria or hack into media/computer networks to broadcast pirate signals/communications. All of this global intrigue was being dealt with by the G.I. Joes in the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas, as narcotics-trafficking became a new ‘element’ in the new discussion about anti-commerce terrorism (e.g., 9/11). Captain America (Ajay) wanted to situate himself in all this drama by continuing his Thomas Nast oriented pro-patriotic Internet blogs while continuing to serve the CIA/NSA as a secret agent(!).

Captain America (Ajay) met a beautiful woman named Mara in the summer of 2020 and decided to marry her. They retired to the Canary Islands near the Virgin Islands and settled down to raise children in comfort and peace. Captain America (Ajay) continued to blog on the Internet and post photos of himself dressed up like a priest or a cop(!) for messages about everyday citizens across the world continuing to use methods of vigilance to espouse traffic/network supervision for any development towards capitalism-flowery (e.g., World Bank!). Captain America (Ajay) was happy living with Mara and blogging casually (and peacefully!) on the Internet about modern commerce idealism.

One night, Ajay had a strange dream that he was visited by the Marvel Comics super-villain/terrorist known as ‘Red Skull’ who wanted to tell Ajay about the complexity of modern networking as it related to emerged capitalism-flowery. Red Skull wanted to impress upon Ajay’s mind that new age patriotism towards globalization-minded peace (e.g., European Union, OPEC, World Bank, etc.) would be shaped by minds working to understand/appreciate the reality of anti-federalism terrorism (e.g., 9/11). As Red Skull explained such terrible things to the dreaming Ajay, the American patriot wondered if all this ‘modernism meditation’ was making him more and more like a ‘real-life comic book character (or superhero!)’. Ajay awoke from his dream in a cold-sweat and asked himself ominously, “Is the modern world really about the idealization of commercial daydreams (e.g., Wall Street, MTV, etc.)?”

Chapter 2: Iron Nation

====

Ajay decided he’d become a traveling philosopher as well as patriotic crusader for democracy(!). Ajay fashioned an Iron Man costume, made of plastic and alloys, and wandered around Europe for one entire summer. When people stopped him on the street to ask him why he was dressed/outfitted as the comic book superhero Iron Man (Marvel Comics), Ajay’d tell them he considered Iron Man a symbolic ‘diplomat’ of modern age intellectual aesthetics (e.g., production, materials, etc.). After all, iron is a symbol of industry.

Ajay (aka, ‘Iron Man’) was nothing like the ‘Captain America’ we were familiar with before, so Ajay was really a new ‘aura’ now, and he used his Iron Man ‘aura’ to present the conscious idea that roaming around Europe in the summertime as a diplomat of modernism would facilitate modern populist ideas about ‘lifestyle science.’ This was the Age of Facebook, and Ajay wanted his ‘Iron Man’ identity to reflect a new age social fascination with ‘elemental imagination’ (e.g., Nickelodeon). In other words, Ajay Satan was using comic book avatars to express social interests in the imagination of ‘networks.’

Ajay met a strange intelligence-officer in Belgium who was possibly a member of Mossad. This officer, Eli Frank, told Ajay he loved his ‘Iron Man’ identity/aura but was concerned that it did not appropriately reflect a modern focus on politics-driven (rather than imagination-driven) networking. Eli suggested Ajay continue to don the ‘Captain America’ identity/aura, but Ajay insisted that his Iron Man summer-experiment in Europe would symbolize a real modern focus on elemental industry (e.g., NASDAQ, Play-Doh,.etc.). In other words, Ajay wanted humanity to consider the formalism of a hypothetical ‘Iron Diary’ or ‘Iron Nation.’

Ajay continued his travels in Europe that summer and realized that he’d come to appreciate the qualities of imagination in a modern world driven by networks, toys/gadgets, capitalism (of course!), and architecturalism(!). Ajay felt that his ‘Iron Man’ identity/aura would help him appreciate/understand the contours of socialization (e.g., WikiLeaks) and teamwork (e.g., World Bank). However, Ajay Satan remained concerned/worried that Iron Man would never be able to serve as a real ‘spiritual diplomat’ of new age dharma, since the threat of terrorism was endless(!).
