Captain America: Brave New World - News & Speculation Thread

Why is he dressed like a college art teacher?

And his head looks the same size as the other pops in that pic.
This version of Sterns did work at a college. Also it's a Funko Pop. We can't really judge how his head is sized based on that. Funkos are standardized like that

Well it's a funko pop, so you can't fully judge the proportions. Plus like i said if you look at his head, he does have some type of bump on his forehead indicating it's supposed to be bigger than normal.

At this point I'm sure Disney would just love to move past this mess like Snow White. The sooner its forgotten the better.

More months added of terrible PR which isn't great for projects that may actually be good.
I don't see how bad reviews would encourage more people to give Thunderbolts a chance, and the Fantastic 4 another chance in the cinemas. Unless those movies are exceptionally great, that a potential critical failure from Brave New World wouldn't matter to them in the summer.

I am still cautiously optimistic about Thunderbolts* being a good movie, but the trailer hasn't really hit with people like I'd hoped. After Brave New World is released people may want a break from Feige's MCU for a bit.

From my perspective the Fantastic Four's bigger issue is the studio's insistence (to this point) of releasing it so close to Superman.

Honestly, we would've been better off if Marvel had figured out how to take Falcon & Winter Soldier, Cap 4, and Thunderbolts and streamline, cut, and combine all the best ideas of them into a single movie. Instead of potentially two mediocre movies and one mediocre TV show.

I mean, its basically Marvel's Discount Suicide Squad. Valentina is basically their Amanda Waller, and Bucky is their Rick Flagg.

Wow Leader looks horrible, but honestly everything about this looks horrible. Going to be a big bomb I think. Time for Marvel to reflect, take a step back and make some big changes going forward.

This movie, Thunderbolts, and Ironheart feel like that last few DCEU movies (Flash, Shazam 2, Aquaman 2, Blue Beetle) they looked horrible and it was obvious they weren’t going to be successful.

Let’s get back on track Marvel come on guys

Am I blind? Where did you see the Leader in that clip?

That's what I was thinking, too. He wasn't in that clip at all, as far as I know. He was featured in the trailer for a few seconds, I think.

Marvel has reportedly been doing this following the failures of Quantumania and The Marvels, but these projects were already well in the pipeline before those wake up calls, especially Ironheart and Captain America, and there’s only so much time and money the studio is going to throw at them. Marvel can’t delay the rest of its slate forever. Personally, I’m not expecting any major changes in quality control until Fantastic Four.

Very curious what the budget on this is after all the reshoots and the 7-month delay. According to latest info from Forbes, Quantumania had a production budget of 330.1M (after a 58.3M tax reimbursement from the UK government) and the budget for The Marvels was 307.3M (after a 66.7M tax reimbursement from the UK government) and these numbers don't include marketing.

Guessing that this film ended up costing pretty much the same so if we go with a 300M production budget and, let's say, a 120M marketing budget then the movie needs to make anywhere between 750-840M WW to break even. Don't see it happening.

Maybe.
But, I am VERY old fashioned.
Usually, I judge the film AFTER I see it.

Even the non-laptop scenes don't look cinematic.

I also just realized, that I don't like the color grading for this. Reminds me of those faceless action movies from Lionsgate.

Yeah, from a marketing standpoint this movie did all the right things, regardless of the finished product. Trailers and posters have been aces.
