Captain America: Brave New World - News & Speculation Thread

And people were freaking out over the funko pop lol.

Does anyone know if Liv Tyler is still in this? Last I heard about her being in this was almost 2 years ago, back when the title was still New World Order. I'm wondering if after the title change and massive amounts of reshoots, if her role got cut?

Green Lantern happened like ages ago. 14 years I think to be exact. However, I think the Leader's role is probably small or else, we would have seen him a lot in the trailers.

Both he and his wife Becky Lynch have filmed scenes for Marvel movies that got cut.

AMC app lists the movie at 2hr even.

I am curious to see how this will go. Not going opening weekend, but still curious to see how much hype there will be for this one. If it hits that projection that'll be good.

I would be watching it in the first weekend. Q1 of 2025 doesn't seem jam-packed in the movies. So there's really no competition for this. I am also not interested watching Snow White in a theater in March.

Still not feeling any buzz so I feel it will end up at the bottom of that forecast or below (50-60m OW domestic for total 130m).

It wouldn’t surprise me that the all three MCU movies together this year would make less than Deadpool last year.

This is going to be the 1st opening night since like phase 1 I already had a trip plan. I will eventually see it but was never that excited for it when announced.

Yeah this and Thunderbolts are going to be very rough goes for casuals. It feels like a rough go for me as a big fan, I like Mackie and the character but it does not move a needle for me. I feel like phases 5 through the next Avengers are like DLC/Non canon/side missions, I am ready for X-Men to start carrying the MCU.

I can’t see a compelling reason why casuals want to spend money and time to see this not Steve Rogers Cap movie. Red Hulk could be a mild a draw, but I suspect he will only be in the final act for another MCU CGI fight fest again.

I will be there opening weekend (first MCU opening since No Way Home I don’t have an overseas trip I think) because I’m in the tiny minority who really liked Falcon and Winter Soldier, except for the final episode.

There used to be a time where I'd go see anything by Marvel Studios. That is no longer the case. I love 'em but I have no desire to go watch this. I would really like to get that feeling back, of really wanting to be there opening night. But it just isn't happening anymore.

I also feel (and maybe this is a separate conversation) I feel we should stop feeding them money for mediocre films. Venom should've stayed as a one movie thing. It took way too long for people to realize those Sony films are garbage. As consumers we can demand better quality films.

Oh they took out the Serpent Society?
I can't remember which site reported it. The Hollywood Reporter? There was a report that they removed a big chunk of the movie including a big action sequence which included Serpent Society and that was one of the many reasons why they delayed the movie for several months. So this must be connected to.it, if the actor's scene has been removed from the movie.

Oh they took out the Serpent Society?
Not exactly. The removed some actors and changed a lot of scenes but Sidewinder is in the movie, just now played by Giancarlo Esposito. I think Seth Rollins was originally supposed to be King Cobra.

I hope they don't pull a Cats where they have to patch the VFX after release. :cheeky:

I can see Thunderbolts being a Phase 1-level success if it is well-received. Fantastic Four probably has the most box office potential atm though.

Thunderbolts* should benefit from opening the summer movie season. Brave New World should benefit from the Captain America title, unlike a movie title like Falcon: Brave New World. Fantastic 4, I seriously don't know how the general public would react to it. Marvel fans find it the most exciting out of the three, but Fantastic 4 in the movies, have underperformed and bombed in the past. Its the third Marvel movie in a span of 6 months, plus Superman and Jurassic World coming out in the same month. It should be great to make a real impact.

I wonder what they're gonna call it here in Germany. They can't do The First Avenger like with Steve's movies. Random Avenger No 34?
