Captain America: Brave New World - News & Speculation Thread

There’s also a “Silence Your Phones” promo which shows Ross becoming angrier before he hulks out on the White House lawn.

Here’s hoping the popcorn buckets help the initial box office push.
Because they will sell out, QUICKLY!

I wonder what they're gonna call it here in Germany. They can't do The First Avenger like with Steve's movies. Random Avenger No 34?
Probably something with “legacy” in the title. A few off the top of my head:

-The First Avenger Legacy: Brave New World
-The First Avenger Legacy: The Rise of Sam Wilson
-The First Avenger Legacy: Red Hulk Rising
-The First Avenger Legacy: A New Beginning
-Legacy of the First Avenger
-The First Avenger: Legacy

Probably something like those or some variation on those. They’ll probably want to keep the “The First Avenger“ part for marketability purposes to let audiences know what franchise it is. Legacy is the one word I could think of that would indicate the passing down of something to another character.

Seems kind of derivative, but then again, a lot of the titles for a lot of movies aren’t always the most original, anyway.

Those could work, yeah.

Captain America The First Avenger
The Return of the First Avenger
The First Avenger Civil War
Legacy of the First Avenger
The First Avenger: Legacy

Especially the bold ones flow nicely with the previous titles.

It's weird that Wilson feels like such an afterthought no matter what. The First Avenger Left: Here's This Guy I Guess. Just call it Not Steve.

I wish we'd get a Isaiah movie, The First Avenger would still make sense.

Looks like they called it as Captain America 4 in that market.

I'm gonna say the following and it's up to you guys whether it's real or not:

President Trump re-enacts the President Ross and Captain America scene with Elon Musk replacing Sam Wilson.

I just don’t see Captain America from Sam it’s more Falcon with a title. Unfortunately my hype for this film is at an all time low. The only thing that peaks my interest is Harrison Ford as President Ross.

I still think making this movie was not a good idea. I could name four other Marvel movies that could have been developed/filmed earlier for a release next month, instead of this. Doctor Strange 3, Black Panther 3, Fantastic 4 or Shang Chi 2. And I bet there would be more hype and excitement.

I initially was looking forward for Red Hulk but its essentially a baddie version of Hulk in red. Thunderbolt Ross, aside from the 2008 film, wasn't a very developed mcu character, so this isn't an exciting villain for a 2025 film, post Endgame movie. Harrison Ford as a villain/antagonist kinda gives it an as edge as I haven't seen him in a role like this, but not so much.

Idk, if Disney is banking on this as the start of another Captain America trilogy, but Sam Wilson is just not a very interesting character. This would need to rely heavily on the Captain America brand and the movie being entertaining/good.

I know this is a tie-in ad, but I am 100% certain some of the footage used is from the actual film (look at 0:04).

The CGI looks... very bad.

And some of Mackie's lines are incredibly stiff.

I just can't take him as Cap. Steve was Cap, not Sam.

As much as some people might get angry at this, I think there is a reason Sam Wilson as Captain America didn't last in the comics and they reverted back to Steve Rogers. If they do the same thing in the MCU, I won't be surprised.
Sam is still A Captain America in the comics
There's two now
Just like there's (at least) two Wolverines, Spider-men, Hulks, etc
Superhero names apparently mean little in Marvel now, they seem to describe a class of characters, rather than individual heroes

You had it right the first time. It's an insurance commercial. It's nothing to go by because this is just another paycheck for Mackie though I do think he's a weak link in the acting department as far as the MCU goes.

If I judged a movie by its CGI,
I would NEVER go to the movies!

The CGI is one of the many aspects why this movie doesn't look good, despite not being the main one.

It's 2025 and the visuals look like 2008's Incredible Hulk.

For something that had such a big budget and went through such extensive reshoots, one would expect at least they would polish the visuals.

I'd say the CGI looks good but they really need to make a progress with the environments, backgrounds and lightning because 90% of the time you can tell they're not outside, in a Green Screen volume or whatever. It's distracting how unreal the locations look sometimes.
