Captain America: Brave New World - News & Speculation Thread

Hmm, there probably could have been a happy compromise. I think the original prosthetic looks good, yes, but I do like that they decided to go more grotesque—though, of course, there’s room for improvement with the final look

I think the more grotesque look would've fit better if the movie had a more horror movie tone and was darker. But it wasn't.

I remember Nelson teasing his collaboration with the original make-up artist (who he'd worked with several times before) and seeming really excited about it. Shame how it all turned out.

I'm surprised Screen Junkies still do these Honest Trailers. I subscribed to them before but I never finished any of those Honest Trailers. Their other videos like summer movie preview, franchise spotlight and end of the year rundown were more insightful but they stopped making those many years ago.

Watched this movie on the plane. It had some interesting elements that didn’t really get fleshed out. I think the general idea of a politician/conspiracy thriller was right, the execution was just poor. Cinematography was surprisingly mediocre.

I think when it boiled down to it, I just didn’t find myself that drawn to Sam’s story as a character.

While Giancarlo Esposito is obviously a better actor then Seth Rollins, I still can't take him seriously in the role he had in the movie (that was clearly written to be a physical threat). They should have brought back all the actors who played the Serpent Society and tone down the campy aspects of their original performances. GE should've been saved for another character/movie.

He was always treated as a supporting character in the movies, with not a lot to work with. Then Disney+ came and they gave his own show but he still had to share the lead role with Bucky.

Like I said in 2022 when the film was greenlit, that this was an unnecessary project. Well it would have been worth it, if the movie was actually good but no.

Zeke Stane was supposed to be the creator of Serpent Society.
Allegedly. Mytimetoshine is saying this only after the show came out. And her track record has been awful the last couple years. So I wouldn’t put much stock in it.

For starters, they really should have known, it wasn't gonna perform well at the box office without Chris Evans.

His role in the movie was nothing special. I thought for a late addition, it would have been a notable role, but it was essentially the head of a faceless group of human criminals.

I'm sure the problem is all of the above, but I also couldn't get behind Sam on the Falcon Show. Not gonna watch a movie that's just this guy.
