Soooooo...

This is the bit where everyone who said they didn't want to see Civil War on screen backtracks and says how much they really love the story, now that to do so would put them in the same corner as the guys making the movies.

...I'll just sit and twiddle mi thumbs smiling to miself, safe in the knowledge that I never try and lean with the odds when stating my personal preferences :)

BAM!

This is definitely a counter move to MOS2. If they drop the potential Spider-Man casting for this will be the biggest film of 2016.

"MOS2" ?

Do you mean "Man Of Steel 2" ?

Are you referring to "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" ?

...Sorry but I have to bring this up, That movie has a working title, you may not like it, or may wish to re-iterate that it is a follow on from "MOS", fair enough...

...but you shouldn't expect to be able to both change the name AND change that to an acronym, because whilst it may be aesthetically pleasing to you, the expectation on others to decode it goes so far as to impose one's own personal aesthetic upon them at the expense of a wider collective understanding of the dialogue taking place...

...just saying ;)

So what are we going to get from this "Civil War" movie?

Cap's "Secret Avengers" and a Stark forming the "Thunderbolts" maybe?

My dream for the end of this movie would be the formation of H.A.M.M.E.R with a view to putting Norman Osborne in the Iron Patriot suit after Sony's "Sinister Six" if they can reach an agreement, and the "death" of Captain America paving the way for Bucky to spend some quality time with the shield (I think the Sam Wilson Cap in the comics is just a red herring so we are less likely to expect to see Bucky-Cap, giving it more impact when we do).

Next announcement I wanna here is that Thor 3 will adapt elements of "Loki", "Ragnarok" and "Seige"

I can see the May 2018 movie not featuring the "Big Three" of Rogers, Stark and Odinson but then a dramatic return for them in May 2019 ;)

meh. Civil War. I hope they don't adapt too much of it...

I'm hoping it's just seeding for things to come. Putting Civil War in one movie with no proper setup beforehand would be a travesty, especially since it would be significantly different from the source material. Plant the seeds with an RDJ cameo, let them sit through Avengers 3 and Thanos, them bring them around to fruition after that.

They have no secret identities and there's only 2 superhuman heroes (Thor/Hulk) on earth with 3 advanced capability heroes Cap/Iron Man/War Machine and the rest as standard humans. Not enough to be so dangerous some act needs happening

No - this is the part where we say even though we did not like Civil War, we'll still see this movie. Maybe it will be to Civil War like A2 is to Age of Ultron or IM2 was to Demon in a Bottle - very little or name only....

I liked Civil War

but I also did not give a single s**t about Stark, Pym, Or Reed Richards going into the story, which may be why I liked it so much
As a Cap fan, issue #1 was bonkers

Are you serious? In Avengers 2 alone there's Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. But Agents of SHIELD has introduced Deathlok, Blizzard, Scorch, Blackout, Absorbing Man and they're setting up more. The Neflix shows have Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and all of the superpowered characters that come with those properties. Superhumans is clearly the next phase Marvel is heading towards. As Baron von Strucker said in the Cap 2 tag "This is the age of miracles."

I indeed forgot about SW and QS. Daredevil would fall into the Cap/Iron Man level imo and the rest are AOS so they pretty much don't count.

The point I was making is that the universe is heading towards a world of superhumans. Even if none of the characters from AoS show up in the movies, the show is setting up the concept of a world of superhumans, adding a new one every other episode.

Also, you said that Thor and Hulk are the only superhuman heroes on earth, how do the AoS characters not count? Of course they count. Agents of SHIELD is basically MCU: the series.

If you wanna be really technical, Cap is kinda superhuman given his agility/strength etc

Tony Stark will step in and steal the focus and the spotlight. It can be a bad thing for the Captain America character. He always needs to prove that he can stand on his own without the other big Marvel guy. Two hit films aren't enough. For Cap's sake, I hope Hawkeye will fill up the shoes that Stark is supposed to have.
Cool with a Cap vs IM fight, though. But they could have done it in an Avengers sequel instead.

AoS is a good opportunity to take the long road when it comes to Civil War.

That being said, I think the Netflix shows are somewhat mistimed for a Civil War storyline. Defenders is probably right in the middle of this and possibly slightly later. It comes off as a distraction.

Why not just name it MARVEL's Civil War ? People will know what it is with MARVEL in the title

Yeah this is a direct response to MOS2. I think it'll be great movie though.

They need to have the main star in the title to generate hype. There are many people who would rather see a Captain America movie over a basic Marvel movie, so generalizing it as Marvel might not generate as much interest.

I'll say it again: I call BS until some actual evidence shows up.

I think plenty of people thought elements of CIVIL WAR could work, but didn't want to see a lot of it adapted.

If they're smart they'll use elements from CIVIL WAR but call it SECRET WAR.

Eh?

EH?

Hawkeye could in no way substitute for Tony in anything resembling a Civil War story. It's bizarre enough believing the rumor that they were planning to sub in Bruce for Tony if Permutter refused to let the moths out of his safe.

I don't think it's lack of confidence in Evans or Steve as a character but the opposite. They're confident enough in him going head to head with Downey's RDJ in a linchpin story for the MCU. They also wouldn't have him sharing the first look EW cover with RDJ for AOU if they thought of him as unproven character.

Maybe there will be a time jump between Avengers 2 and Cap 3 and the world will be full of supers that is the only way I see Civil War working at this point, but I am intrigued.
