Maybe it's a reference to her role in The Counsellor. Which is funnily enough the only good performance of hers ever lol.
I like Diaz but "Decaps Cap" is kind of insulting. Her ******** romcom knocked a 3 week old film out of first place, big deal.
Add to the fact that TOW is a critically-panned movie and it felt that female moviegoers just wanted to see a movie that is full of Estrogen for a change. I believe TWS will stay on the top 10 much longer than TOW weeks from now.
Wow $645 million ..... Kudos to the Russos and this movie. They deserve it.
So what are your final predictions guys?
I'm going to go with $705 million.
I like $703.5
I'm so happy for this film, people. So worthy. I was at the dentist's office this weekend for a cleaning, and I kept replaying TWS in my head. Basically, it is one of many happy places for me!
Love it so, and it deserves all the success!
$753 million to surpass The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Just so you guys know, it's very possible Captain America: The Winter Soldier could surpass the domestic take for The Amazing Spider-Man.
I'm going with right around $700 million.
I would love to see Cap3 make it into the top 10 of alltime for comic movies. In order for it to do that it would need to amass $291,045,518- at which point would rank #10 dethroning WBs 'Man of Steel'- im not quite sure that's even doable at this point but im crossing my fingers.
As for the worldwide total 645 millions is just who'd of thunk it?! I would say 700 million is a safe bet at this point!!
Captain America just achieved a new milestone for its domestic take. According to boxofficemojo it now ranks as the #1 political/thriller of all time!!
1. Captain America: The Winter Soldier $225,059,000.00
2. Air Force One $172,956,000.00
3. Traffic $124,115,000.00
4. Clear and Present Danger $122,187,000.00
5. Hunt for Red October $122,012,000.00
I still think $700 mil is a stretch. I'm saying $687,930,154.33.
To The Captain!
That a Cap movie is even close to catching a Spider-Man film is a tremendous achievement.
Its about friggin time. Cap should be the MCU's flagship franchise and Marvel in general after Spidey. I hope they entice Evans to stay at least for a couple beyond the current contract. Come on Disney, pay up.
If it lands on either of these numbers exactly I'll watch it again just to make you guys wrong.
I'd recommend Being John Malkovich. She plays a very different kind character.
$700 million worldwide is not so hard to believe.
Think about this. The movie is already at $225 million domestically. $645 million worldwide. It will easily cross the $250 million domestic mark at this point. So that's at least $670 million right there. Figure in the rest of its international monies plus whatever else it can make domestically, and there's definitely enough juice in there to cross the $700 million worldwide mark.
If it crosses 700 mil then I think it will have surpassed all of my highest expectation. Anything over that will just be gravy on top.
It's a shame it's losing China on Sunday since it's holding on so well and still going to make about $4-5m there this week.
I think $715-20m
But I really want $725m because I want to see a certain Thor fan go ballistic.
