Excellent! The 3 comic films way out in front for now, even with Spidey's underperformance.
Seems like the only movie that can beat Cap this summer is Transformers 4.
Captain America: $274,842 -34.1% / 223 (-94) / $1,232/ $256,334,467
LEGO Movie $225,000 -21.9% / 301 (+27) / $748 / $256,328,000
And the Captain moves into the lead which should last til Mon #s but it's still having much better per theater holds as LEGO's run in second theaters is winding down with Caps turn coming up.
WB did it again! They just found extra $ in the cushions after the official #s were already up.
The LEGO Movie $241,404 -16.2% 301 +27 $802 $256,344,435
That's just sad lol.
It's still showing at 1 theater in my area with only 2 viewings daily.
Anyone other than me pay to see Cap but walk in to see something else? I don't do it all the time but both the WB and Tom Cruise has gotten on my nerves so much that I refuse to give them my money. I saw Edge of Tommorrow on Cap's ticket.
Haha that is classic. I approve of those methods and agree that I Mr. Cruise shall see nary a dollar from my pocket
WB snuck is some more actual-actual #s after the weekend where LEGO's weekend was $14,000 less and CA2 was actually #1 - but only after it went ahead during the weekdays. WB's shenanigans and manipulating reporting of grosses to stay on top is really getting...
Last weekend updated numbers:
20 15 Captain America: TWS: $274,842 -34.1% 223 -94 $1,232 $256,334,467
24 18 The LEGO Movie: $227,240 -21.1% 301 +27 $755 $256,330,271
It's funny TLM is still making anything considering they just released it on DVD/Blu-ray but I guess that's where the dollar theaters come in
so is winter soldier ever going to pass up Lego movie? What's going on?
This is the box office prediction thread.
Is it now? This is news to me as I am illiterate and only manage to type the wordy things with my smartphone that does speech to text. Please tell me more, would this be the right thread for a certain member of the US Armed forces that holds a high ranking as well as being imbued with the respective colors of his native flag and also for a certain soldier that one would feel has a cold presence as well as some sort of connection to the previous person? You do realize this thread gets the most traffic these days since the movie is just about done with its theatrical run right? For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone would choose to post something like that in here though...
Guess it's just one of life's little mysteries t:
Seriously though, try posting stuff in the appropriate thread. Thanks.
1. Don't be a dick
2. Post things in the right thread.
3. This gets the most traffic because it's the only thing to talk about right now. if you posted that in another thread...it would actually turn into a discussion there instead of being stomped on for being in the wrong thread
Apologies fellas but I felt this place would be the best fit since anyone in this thread obviously is a fan of TWS.
Side Note: Only reason for that snarky response was to poke a little fun at MauriSSio, he's making quite the name for himself over in the AoU thread. Just having a little fun is all
Dude, I love that video, but people who might enjoy it won't know to look in here for something like that because this is the box office thread.
On page 2 there are threads for memes and fan art, maybe it should go in there?
Captain America TWS: $196,797 (-28.4%) 184 (-39) $1,070 $256,690,279
The LEGO Movie: $172,592 (-24%) 315 (+14) $548 $256,696,317
$6,000 behind - provided WB isn't fudging with the weekend totals yet again. LEGO theater count keeps going up as it PTA keeps going down. Now at $548 per theater and on DVD it should finally start losing it's second run theaters. CA2 will probably finally expand into second run theaters in two weeks, on it's 14th w/e (like TDW and IM3) - 4th of July w/e.
yeah...he's an unrepentant troll
Duly noted and a good idea. I'll move it there
I'm starting to think cap2 will never pass up that damn Lego movie. 256, 853, xxx vs 256, 831, xxx
Finally, the #1 Domestic movie (let's see how long it can keep it)
Captain America: The Winter Soldier $383,000 (+94.6%)/ 281 (+97) / $1,363 / $257,205,000
Cap finally hit dollar theaters and there's no way LEGO's #s will come near this weekend even with another theater increase since it's PTA will be less than half of Caps no matter how much WB tries to fudge.
And for the record even if it isn't an apples to apples comparisions now that Cap hit dollar theaters, it outgrossed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 320K week end in the process.
Now the movie made 500K monday-sunday I don't think it has enough juice to make another 2.8M to get past 260M but maybe it can reach 259M. Iron Man 3 went to make another 1.6M when it hit dollar theaters in August (and it was making less in day to day comparision than Cap but had a fairly higher theater count). The theater increase for Cap seems rather limited for the moment. Here's hoping it can get even more screens and showings for the 4th of July we.
LEGO made another $3m plus in dollar theaters. Iron Man 3 had a pretty weak initial expansion into second run theaters with a $637 PTA so even with 50% more theaters it made less and still did another $1.4m. It should get another small bump 4th of July especially with that PTA of $1,363 (high for 2nd run theaters where tickets are cheap). Hopefully it has another $2.8m in the tank.
