Word! I'm not sure I can wait for the DVD.
Might have to do the babysitter thing and go with the hubby, who hasn't seen it yet
I've seen TWS twice but I
so want to see it again. It's a masterpiece of the genre on every level. The script was perfect, the acting superb and the directors turned in the best work I've seen in any superhero film. (Sorry, Joss.
) It was so terrific that I'm tempted to re-watch the trailers and clips just to get my Cap fix.

One aspect of the film I found great was the fact that the villains' plan for world domination was actually frighteningly plausible. Usually, these plots to take over the world really don't hold up to scrutiny, but HYDRA's plan was actually a fascist's dream come true. By creating terror threats and ramping up chaos on a global stage, they conditioned the general public to crave order, safety and security at all costs. Everything that happened in the MCU up to that point, from Tony Stark's kidnapping to Hulk's rampages the Mandarin's attacks/abduction of the president and even the Chitauri invasion, served HYDRA'a purposes by adding to the sense of danger and instability. Had all of that happened in the real world many people would be on the verge of panic, constantly fearful of the next invasion or attack. The citizens of the MCU would react in much the same way.
By the time Project Insight unleashed its weapons and slaughtered 20 million people, there would be some who would actually welcome the mass murder if the result would be a more secure world. Many others would be terrified, of course, and perhaps even inclined to protest or rebel. But those three roving Helicarriers with their satellite-targeted lasers and bombs would be more than enough to cow almost everyone who survived the first onslaught into submission. Those who weren't terrified into submitting would just be killed anyway. So however you cut it, HYDRA would have had total control of humanity.
Finally a truly foolproof, plothole-free supervillain scheme. I was extremely impressed.
