Its been a while since the issue of 52 when isis and black adam got married. While reading trials #2, mary marvel is in a coma, mavel junior is powerless, and the captain has gone white. But in 52, everyone still has powers albeit marvel is a little nuts. Do the trials take place between when they lose their powrs due to shazams death and the wedding or is it just an error on the writers part?
Because if the first is true, then everyone goes back to normal(marvel is in the reds and junior is still junior).

The Trials overlapped with the year 52 covers a bit, but I'm pretty sure all of that stuff is after the point that the 52 series is currently at. Also, it wasn't Shazam's death that caused the Marvels to lose their powers, it was the fact that the source of their powers was draining them and giving more and more of the shared power to Billy, since it recognized him as the chosen successor to Shazam due to his ties to the Rock of Eternity. So, basically, right now in 52 all of the Marvels have their powers, but by the time Trials rolls around, Freddy and Mary, at least, will have lost theirs.

So the current point where 52 is at is before when the the 2 marvels lose their powers?

Yes. Keep in mind, we're only about halfway through 52 so far.

but didnt the marvels lose the power due to IC? or DoV to be exact? so um..yea 52 is after DoV but before Trials...

No, the Marvels lost Shazam in Day of Vengeance, but Billy was bonded to the Rock of Eternity like 3 seconds after so their powers came right back.

How is Mary Marvel in a coma? Didn't she fall from the sky when she lost her power? I remember seeing that somewhere.

Yeah, she fell from the sky when she lost her power. I think she was flying over water at the time. Either way, the fall obviously didn't kill her, it just f***ed her up. It's gonna be fun when she wakes up and goes to Billy to see about her powers and Billy's like, "Um... well, you were in that coma that I never visited you for, so I just put Freddy through hell and then gave him all the powers."

so that means Black adam got married before IC, which we all know is impossible because he got married 20 weeks after...

Why? Black Adam's never been shown losing his power. Only Mary and Freddy have. Black Adam could still be at full power since his powers come from different gods and it's been inconclusive in the past whether or not he actually shares the same power source as the modern-day Marvels.

I think he has a different power source channeled through the same focus. The "Power of Shazam" doesn't truly originate from Shazam, he's only its keeper. Now this is only my guesswork, but I think that the chain goes something like:

Gods -> give power to Shazam -> gives power to Marvels.

Black Adam and the Marvels had different gods. When Billy and Mary both become Captain Marvel/Mary Marvel, for instance, their total power is halved. When all of them including Freddy transform, they all can only use a third of their real power. This stipulation has never applied to Black Adam, so it's logical to say he's not connected to them like that.

So the death of the Wizard affected Adam differently than it did the Marvels. Right now, he can't transform back to Theo Adam even if he does say "Shazam."

He's gonna have to start saying "Marvel!" Although, really, I don't see why it matters for him. Teth-Adam, the ancient hero whom we know as Black Adam, was never really Theo Adam anyway. That was his ******ed descendant.

Merciful Buffy, I refuse to acknowledge Trials of Shazam cosmology until we get to the end and I find out, somehow, that it doesn't turn out to be ass.

The cosmology is really lame. "There are millions of gods called Zeus!" What the ****? Shut up, Billy! :cmad:

i may be wrong, but wernt the marvels at the wedding in 52?

They were there. It's where Mary delievered the following classic line about Black Adam to Isis:

"He's killed a lot of people."

thats my point corp, how were the marvels there?

I must be missing something. Why couldn't the wedding happen before what goes down in Brave New World/Trials of Shazam?

@Assassin: Well if you're asking that then you need to ask why GA was and the cult of connor bust when he was supposedly on an island for 6 months according to Firestorm. Which is pretty much 24 weeks.

because mary is in a coma, and billy is shazam, an freaddy has no power

I can't believe Freddy is going to be called Shazam and say Marvel.

Winick is a poop.

After DoV, I thought the power was still available, though in flux (with the Sins and the magicks that Shazam used to keep at bay escaping). After the Rock was rebuilt and Billy had to take residence there to keep the Sins in check and stuff, I figured that was during the power's healing process that Billy mentioned to Freddy in Trials #2. When that process was complete, I thought that was when Mary and Freddy lost their power and Billy went all 'Marvel'. I took it that Black Adam's wedding took place before the power set itself right (i.e. Mary and Freddy being left powerless).

if that were true, Mary wouldnt be in a Coma from which she fell from the sky, during IC!

I took it that Mary's fall in BNW was post IC.
