I picked up the trade of the first 12 issues of Carol's Captain Marvel run at a comic con today. Time to start catching up.

well i think because of the massive VFX for carols Powers and the space shots , also the Costume Design for Carol , The Kree and Skrulls i asume like GOTG Vol 2 at least 200 Million

We know that Nick Fury will be in it already (and apparently it's pre-eyepatch as well).

Personally I'm hoping that we see older Peggy Carter appear as well.

Dusting off William Hurt for an appearance as Ross would make sense as well since he'd still be with the military. Maybe even younger Rhodey as well (I'm not sure how old he's supposed to be in the movies but I'm guessing he'd be in his 20's here).

I'd also like to see a pre-Moonstone Dr. Karla Sofen appear. To set her up as a potential villain moving forward (she works better as a "sequel villain" I think). Also I don't know what the rights issues are with Jessica Drew, but she is one of Carol's best friends in the comics.

I'd hope they don't re-cast for a younger Rhodey. I can't imagine he having a big role. Maybe they can use the de-aging they used for some of Michael Douglas' scenes in Ant-Man for Don Cheadle.

Also I don't know what the rights issues are with Jessica Drew, but she is one of Carol's best friends in the comics.

I already didn't think there was much chance of Jessica Drew showing up here, but them making this a period piece pretty much killed any possibility of that in mind.

As for legal issues, they can use the name Jessica Drew but they can't call her Spider-Woman or have her don the costume without Sony's okay.

“Captain Marvel” directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck are in talks with their “Mississippi Grind” star Ben Mendelsohn for the superhero film’s villain.

Mendelsohn would play the film’s main antagonist, which would likely be the leader of the Skrulls. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige teased earlier this year that the creatures would be featured in the film.

Yon-Rogg, anyone? Awesome, Mendelsohn is great. Marvel keeps getting great actors and actresses for these villains.

Nice to finally get some news about this film as well. I'm sure more will be on the way in the coming months if it's supposed to start filming at the beginning of the year.

I don't know too much about him but at least he has a connection to the directors. That is usually good.

Yeah they have been on a good run since GOTG2 with the villains.

Even with Civil War. It's really only Mads character who was kinda wasted but that was mostly because it was Doctor Strange's origin story.
